Fuck why do some posters come here and moan about what kind of forum it is???

We are a bunch of diehard BB fans, cynical, critical, and protective of a concept we like. We have been like this for over 10 years.

We are not the same as the OS forums. Never have been.

If you cannot cope with bitchin and snarking and all kinds of shit stirring and throwing of mud - well this is not the place for you.

And until 9 serves up some actual content and real conversations - instead of hearsay, we are going to whinge.

A whole bunch of shows get big increases whenever Big Brother is on.

So far, the 2008 series is rating similar to this season.

It should be mentioned that in 2008, Big Brother had no competition from the plethora of younger demographic multichannels that originated from 2009 onwards. It also aired at a time when television audiences weren't as fragmented. So for Big Brother to be doing as well as it did in 2008 now is actually quite respectable.

So many things have changed the viewing habits in Australia since 2008. Check out these results from 2008:

Not aimed at me, but I'll give my answer- I'd start to worry when the ratings it gets does not give it a placing in the top 5 of the younger demographics or a significant place in the Top 20 (and again, this is subject to the circumstances of the night's viewing).

Another way of putting it is this - the number '894,000' and the words 'aren't that good' should not belong in the same line of any reasoning unless talking about the finale/ launch of a show.

So let me get this straight, you can bitch and moan about whatever you want but the poster to whom you were referring cant bitch and moan about the bitching and moaning?? Ok...


I'm all for a diverse range of opinions, so go off your head at Alex, Nine and whoever the heck else you want. However I think the point being made here is that unfair comparisons are being made in regards to the ratings and it seems that some people don't want to understand what the ratings really mean. If you want to believe that the ratings are dismal and this years series has failed already, that's fair enough for you. What some of us are trying to do is help to make sense of the ratings.

I agree that the editing has been poor this year. However the FACTS are that the show, despite all of that, is actually still rating relatively well. Believe it or not - it's up to you. This is the ratings thread and that is what we are discussing.

Thursday's seem to be Big Brother's new must-watch night. Second highest rating of the week, and almost 100,000 up from last week. Brilliant stuff!

there's a huge difference between constructive criticism, and straight out complaining, and it's no reason to attack a person over it, after all, he loves BB even more than we do, you seriously think he's not putting in 250% to make it the best show he possibly can?! yet everyone attacks him when we don't know even a quarter of the story!? makes sense.
