Ratings Thread 2013

Last night's figures:

880k #10 in total people

#5 in 25-54 and 18-49 demos and #3 in 16-39 demo.

Not that great for last night.

Uh oh!!! Slipping in the demos is what we REALLY don't want. Not exactly a spectacular result for last night

What a poor result! If the ratings keep this way... I don't see it being renewed.

Last year, never once did a Tuesday show get that low. The lowest was 0.94m in week 12, which was the second last week of the series.

Oooh dear. The confusing & somewhat lackluster first week is really going to hurt this season.

I've really enjoyed the shows on Monday & Tuesday this week... They've really gotta up the anty somehow!!!

That 0.94 is the consolidated figure for week twelve. Last year's overnight week 12 Tuesday was 873,000 but in week 2 of 2012 Tuesday was 1,030,000 which turned out to be about average for a Tuesday.

Last night beaten by Masterchef in 2 youngest demos

Ah, right.

Still pretty bad though, considering last year Tuesdays was just a daily show, not nominations like this year.

I am hoping Nine drops Big Brother after this year and Ten picks it up.

I wouldn't be hoping that with too much ferver. If it tanks in the ratings this year and NINE doesn't renew, I think we'd see another long break IF it came back at all.

Ten, especially, can't afford an expensive flop

But 10 can afford to be braver, and make it radical and live......10 know how to make BB if they go back to the original.

After last nights attempt to insult the viewer, I wonder how Wednesday nights ratings will go.

**shudder**

I would rather it be not on at all than watch what Nine is offering.

Fair enough but I disagree. If I had to choose from between nothing or NINE's family friendly version, I'd still choose something over nothing.

What I would like to see is NINE realise that its best performing in the 16-39 demo and reformat the show. I think that's a greater chance (as slim as it is) than TEN picking it back up next year. NINE can do it, just think original few underbelly series.

How weird is it that 9 produce the bitchin block - a show supposedly about renos, but all they screen is bitchin/gossip/tears and crap.
So they produce BB and show none of that????Why???

This last season of the block was the first I ever watched. I said to my friends on many occasions that for me it was more like BB than a Reno show and I would have watched it previously if I had known.

Speaking of the Block, it was always on at 7pm for half an hour and extended to 8pm for hour length episodes. People are creatures of habit, I think part of the reason the ratings are slipping is that they are stuffing around with the time. If they want their whole family friendly vibe they should stick it at 7pm and leave it there (extending for specials).

If they are going to have it start later then they need to ditch the family friendly theme and make a young adult / adult themed show but still stick to a time slot. General public expect to see it at the same time and tend to just give up if they have to go searching for a show. Hardcore fans watch the promos, check the EPGs but your average punter expects more stability to give a show a chance.

Just my 2c anyway

Yes only 10 can do it, it seems. Channel 9 is ridiculous.

I would rather have no BB next year than a BB like 2012 and 2013 BB

Figure's for last night

754k #13 in total people.

Not in the top 5 for the 25-84 demo, #5 in 18-49 demo and #4 in 16-39 demo.

Looks like Nine coded the Daily Show and Confidential as one episode. I think last year they coded it as two. Figures aren't getting any better.

Oh dear. They really should have coded it separately.
