Yeah, I think they took the opportunityof a crying kid to give Holly's image a buff up.

Mel should have wrestled that mic off Holly a lot sooner than she did. And enough with pretending it's cute to fart in people's faces.
 
Not sure how sensationalised this is (the headline certainly is) but I understand the article. These “demands”, if true, are not asking for much and are literally what we’ve all been saying since the start - a roof, a couch and more airtime to comfortably interview and host the live shows.

If these reports are coming from legitimate crew members, I can now see why Mel seemed so rigid and not herself last night.

These producers are destroying the show from the inside out.

I love Mel. Have loved her long before this season and was so happy when she was announced as the new host. Unfortunately, we have not seen what she is fully capable of due to the severely lacking production of this season. Back in the original days, Gretel led the show. She WAS BB. This season, it feels like Mel is more a second narrator. I don’t feel it’s her fault. But unfortunately I don’t think this is what she would have quite been sold when she signed on. The production is so amateur.
 
Love, love Mel she is great. Only neg was in the live house interviews before the eviction she let Holly ramble on for aaaages about how she was feeling and her face was dead (Mel's) and I was waiting for a clever response when Holly FINALLY finished but Mel said "thanks Holly great answer" or similar. It was like Mel was dragged into Holly's delusional bubble for a moment. Weird. And also letting Holly take the mic off her.. that is a no no as I am sure she knows. I would like them to sit like Gretel did and also show packages for their reactions. I think Mel has stuff going into her earpice that make some live housemates hard to manage. Overall 10/10 to Mel 7/10 to the production.
 
I think some people here need to get over Gretel, she does not want to come back to Big Brother, and she got stroppy towards the end of her reign.

Mel is doing a wonderful job for a newish host on a live TV show, of whom production is letting down by lack of roofs, chairs, and experienced staff.

If somehow Gretel was the host of this current iteration, I would have loved her open disdain for the live shows and editing style. 😂

She was smarter than all of us to have let go from Big Brother all those years ago. She probably knows it's never going to recapture the magic of the early seasons.
 
As much as I love Gretel, she wouldn't have been a good fit for this reboot, Yes Gretel would've done things differently but everyone would, Gretel would never let a housemate run away with the interview like Holly did last night but it's the first time Mel has had to deal with someone like Holly LIVE.

9/10 from me, stepping up into a big role for the first time, LIVE with a bloody awful team behind her, she has shined and has done an awesome job.

Let's hope everyone behind the scenes gets a big kick up the ass and sorts shit out for next year.
 
I'm not going to blame Mel for the show. She obviously isn't given much to do and just has to run with it the best she can. The show has really let her down. They haven't even realised the evicted housemates need their own microphone on stage. I can only imagine this hasn't turned out as what she thought it would be either. I'm sad for her because if she was given the chance she would really slay, and I think she would have grown in confidence by the time we were a couple of seasons in if they let her do proper eviction interviews like Gretel did.

Mel did a fab job tonight. They need to keep that “couch” set up most for interview times. Can you imagine if holly stood up there for 10 mins rambling standing up with poor Mel just there mic less
 
She did well tonight, again I don't think its fair to compare her to Gretel or even Sonia to some extent just right now. Both previous hosts (and I guess we'll talk about the radio pests as well) had experience talking infront of crowds and interviewing. Mel is merely a radio presenter/comedian esc television personality, we have to give her maybe even 2 full sized seasons before we can my a full assessment on her capability.
 
I think it’ll be great seeing Mel develop across the seasons and she’s already off to a great start. I like the idea of seeing someone grow in a role.

I don’t think she is comparable to Gretel as I think they have two very different styles.

Side note, Obviously I liked Gretel but I think she was a-bit unprofessional at times when she would tell off audience and crew members. A bit uncomfortable to watch.

Mel did well. She asked Holly some great questions. She let Holly talk. She is already confident. She just needs to be allowed to have these moments to let her shine. Hope next season they return to the event feel eviction interviews and have housemate highlights packages with real-time evicted housemate reaction. The eviction interviews were essential in OG Big Brother. Without them, the live shows lack the Big Brother magic.
