Cute! I'm not biased at all...
Saturday beers and a punt with my new mate. You're double parked Ollie. Drink up ya weak dog. #pussy#helldog

idk about Dave. He drinks like there's no tomorrow. Not to mention letting Lawson lick the Nutella jar just after he's finished licking his balls.

Loving this Paleo lifestyle - it's not a diet it's just the way I eat now! Noticing amazing changed in my body

I adore Tahan, I really do, and to me her body is perfect, but this paleo lifestyle is such a crock of shit... I doubt half the people who hashtag the lifestyle and are behind it even know what it means let alone understand it, but the diet itself is ridiculous. A diet without legumes and grains to me is just ludicrous!

I just needed to vent this.

Actually, that's reminded me of the Paleo café that David opened in South Melbourne. I wonder how it's going and if anyone's been to it.

What bothers me is that some people are just jumping on the paleo bandwagon because it is the "IN" thing to do. Not sure if that is what Tahan is doing, but lots of people have very little understanding of it, but do it because it is cool... Just like you said.... Anyway soon there will be a new in diet/lifestyle that everyone will want to do...

That's my whole issue with it. On facebook I see so many o my friends who post what they are eating and tagging paleo and then when asked what it is they just say it's part of their fitness now because they were told about it, but dont actually know what it really is. My whole other issue with it is the fact that legumes and grains are all the sudden a bad thing. as if! ask some of these people why it's apparently bad and they honestly cant answer. just gets under my skin. that and their caveman theory has been thwarted with evidence to suggest they are wrong about what one would eat. do these people realise that the life expectancy of these people would have been half of what people lived to now? ok ok, I'm going on now lol. As you can see this kind of annoys me... bring in the next fad diet

I think her body changed because she started exercising around the same time she started the Paleo thing - she toned up because of exercise, not because of Paleo. As one of my friends put it "I'm pretty sure the caveman didn't make bacon, veal sausages and "Paleo" bread"

For me its like yeah the caveman ate meat and fat, but civilization took off thanks to farming and agriculture... Of WHEAT!!! ... And totally agree with what you said.

The girls from The Bachelor and Ed and Mon have been there. They also went to other recent celebrity events like:
- pothole filings
- Woolies getting a delivery of flour
- Someone fueling up their car at a service station
- someone going through Maccas drive through

I'm sure they smashed up coconut water, berries, kale, some protein powder for energy though *sarcasm*

:p

Yeah. They did eat meat more than anything else. Thanks to celebs chasing the bucks, something else that could benefit others lost because want to be celebs jump on the bandwagon.

Gluten-free (which Paleo is) has become quite a trend in itself and resulting from gluten intolerance.

In the US gluten-free is readily available on menus, and "Gluten-free sales reached more than $2.6 billion by the end of 2010 and are now expected to exceed more than $5 billion by 2015. (Source: Packaged Facts, 2011)".

Not to say people don't follow it because it's 'cool', but there could be a link with the gluten-free issue at the heart of what's driving the trend.

oh i definitely agree with you. And for that reason alone I think that having a diet that caters to those people is fantastic. A friend of mine has to make sure her daughter avoids all gluten things because it is really bad for her stomach, so I know she incorporates a lot of gluten free meals in her home. But for those that don't have an issue with it an don't understand the paleo diet, they annoy me, because they are nothing more than followers who are promoting a lifestyle that is ultimately trying to make it seem like certain food groups are terrible when that is not entirely true

I agree too. Cool to be cool (or fool). You make a very good point about it distorting perceptions of what a good, healthy, balanced diet is. We only have to look at the obesity problem to know that healthy eating is a very real issue.

moderation is my answer to healthy eating. Though some do have dietary needs and for those a special diet would need to be put in place. Unfortunately society has become whatever is quick, easy and already accessible, in terms of how food is consumed. So processed foods are a sure thing. Mix that with a much less active lifestyle, and like you said, there is an obesity problem.

Wanna hear something funny? My sister in law is convinced fruit will give people diabetes (roll your eyes if you want, I did). Apparently her uncle used to eat fruit everyday from his garden, at least 7 different kind a day and then he was told he had diabetes, so now she tells people that fruit was the reason for this because even though its not real sugar its still a natural sugar type of food. So now she wont eat certain fruits and hardly at all... though it doesn't stop her from having the sugar free soft drinks
