Stand as one. All my love and support to the family and friends of those who lost their lives during the unthinkable events in Sydney last night. In the light of this incredible tragedy now more then ever we must come together. #illridewithyou#prayforsydney#unity#love

Just spotted Jade on Today show at Martin Place, she was crying at a makeshift shrine. No mention of who she is, just a pan of the crowd, then a 5 second close up of her face

This has a screenshot

@JadeAlbany I'm watching from my living room!

WOW that brought me to tears. What a generous response to senseless pointless violence. Support, honor and respect. Australia is winning
I was watching the footage live, and I was overcome by emotion as the gunfire rang out. I have to agree. That something beautiful has come from this tragedy is really touching to see. I told a friend of mine, in Australia, this has restored some of my faith in humanity. Very poignant.

Hashtags quickly turn into bandwagons people jump on. Whether it's to look cool, peer pressure, or a genuine belief in the principle. I'm not going to wear blinkers and not question whether people are entirely genuine. Life simply works like that. I'm not saying that Ryan isn't, but his tweet could have been worded differently in order to get the message across. Pixels on the internet are only of true value if people follow through with the intent. That being said, I'd ride with every single one of you crazy cats here on the forum.

I agree people absolutely jump on bandwagons but that isn't always a bad thing and it doesn't mean they (or Ryan) don't support the cause. For all the criticism SM gets sometimes, I'm also pleased by the way # movements like this often highlight issues, particularly to some young people who may have not been aware.

Also if you take a look at the hashtag on Twitter there's hundreds of Muslim people saying they're completely heart-warmed by the amount of people that are chiming in with support. It's given the community a sense of belonging and the realisation there's so many Aussies that don't feel they should be ostracised based on the actions of one nut job. Sure there may be a couple on SM that are just jumping on the bandwagon or just saying that they think they should, but that doesn't change the fact all those tweets of support and doing exactly what was planned...giving Muslims of Australia the feeling that they belong and are supported.

I get where you're coming from (I really do, love ya too ) but I personally don't feel the need for all the cynicism here. Bandwagons aren't always a bad thing. I'm very proud of everyone that showed their support for the innocent members (and the majority) of the Muslim community in Syd. That includes Ryan.

Are you guys for real? His tweet is a show of support for the Muslim community even if he can't literally ride with them because he doesn't use public transport - like a lot of people don't. Give him a break.

I don't know anyone who'd readily admit that they're fans of public transport. They either use it because it makes more financial sense than to drive into the city or because they have no parking space (or it's too expensive to justify) for their own vehicle so they are left with no other financially sensible alternative. lol

From personal experience anyone who goes out of their way to say that they aren't 'fans' of PT are almost always wankers who think they're being subtle by implying they're too good/wealthy for it. lol

Ryan saying that he wasn't a fan was completely unnecessary in the context of the message he twitted. And his need to do that could stem from him not wanting to come across as public riding pleb to his rich buddies or some other lame social class insecurity he has going on.

Maybe Ryan could drive around and offer rides? Create his own bus system?
