I feel very sad for him. I really want him to be ok.

I did wonder if that was the case when he posted that photo. Pretty deplorable he gets sent home the next day after overdosing with a mental health history. I hope he finds someone to help him manage his health

Yeah I didn't quite get that. He's still quite out of it but they still send him home?! That's honestly messed up.

Shitty mental health system. Basically, unless you are actively try to commit suicide at the point of time they see you, you get sent home. I hope they actually made sure someone could be there with him when he got home

That's seriously disgraceful. I was thinking about that too. Do they even check to make sure someone will be with you - and not just for the car ride home - before releasing you? Bloody hell. I wonder what it has to take before mental illness is finally recognised to be as important and devastating as any other physical illness or disease. Every time I hear stories like this it feels like it's never going to happen in my lifetime.

It is disgusting how little resources are allocated. I have a mountain of personal stories I could tell - my brother is a paranoid schizophrenic and not only the lack of understanding amongst those allocating funding for care but the hoops they make him jump through just to get disability and to get adequate care and follow-up to see how he's doing and proper medication care is absolutely appalling. With him, as I imagine quite a few, he's just lucky he has a group of friends who are in similar situations so they form their own support group.

I guess at least he does not drink, that seems to make things worse.

I agree with what others have said here, time to take Mental Health seriously and our Govts really should be tackling this head on.

Ive lived in queensland before and I've had family members who have tried to kill themself before there I just hope they actually give him some help unlike they've done with my family they tend to just send people home without the help they need thinking they will be fine. Hope they check up on him when he's home.
