I don't care one way or another if Jade is involved with Ed or the chef or noone at all - so long as she doesn't repeat the clinger thing

Perhaps, but I'm shocked she was supportive enough to make it to his eviction shows. I'm just saying even if they has been long time friends, grown up around each other, she really seemed to adore him, so if he has friends like that, then he is doing well.

My daughter broke up with her boyfriend of about 6 or so years last year. Both have moved on with new partners, but the old boyfriend's mother turned up on my doorstep on Christmas Eve with a gift for me to pass on to my daughter. She misses her and saw something that reminder her of my daughter and bought it for her. So, yes, just because a relationship ends between 2 people doesn't mean that their family members can't still be friends with either of them.

IF (and I have no idea at all if its true or not but it makes for a good supposition) he grew up knowing her family and eventually they had a romantic relationship for however long that sadly didn't last ... but IF that happened then the mum has probably watched him grow up and IF they were close family friends she may have felt like a 2nd mother or an aunt ...

I have a family like that in NZ - we lived in same street, I grew up with the kids but although I don't see them and only have very rare contact by email I always try to go down the road for a visit to their parents because I think of them as Aunt & Uncle ... so 30+ years of moving away and I still visit and love catching up ... maybe it helps that both sets of parents remain in the same homes all this time later and for all of us those places are "home" even though we're scattered all over the place

The nocturnal activity under the doona (and being filmed) was probably a big part of the attraction... For both couples.

You MUST watch Ep 5... NOW!!! Haha... Also, I'm just wondering why we automatically think the perp is a male? When I first heard Yellow King, I thought of a coward.

Yeah, maybe. What about Harrelson's character? It would be far too close to the 'Dexter' storyline if it was Cohle.

I dunno about one dimensional. For sure they don't have the same air time, but they're playing active roles. I was thinking that one of the investigating cops from the current time could have been female and it would have made no difference. Except that it would have been harder for Hart to be as misogynistic as he is with a female interviewer. That might have some part to play later on.

I'm enjoying the show far too much to worry about whether or not there are well rounded female characters. Perhaps they can try that in the next season. It will be a whole new cast of characters.
