No this isn't definitive. It doesn't track every twitter user and doesn't track them at all times. So it can make guesses about the path of follower counts.
Caleb's pretty much shows he has been buying followers as well... It would have reaches a plateau (sort of like Tim's did between Nov 12 and about Jan 14th(?? when Tim's took a leap).....
It would not have gone up linearly...It looks like he just took a less conspicuous route maybe buying followers gradually so we didn't notice the huge jumps like Tim's...but Caleb has absolutely been buying followers looking at that graph..At least 10K probably more like 20K

No but I'm sure the programmer takes enough data points to show a progression...Of course it wouldn't take it at every minute...but it is probably built into the program to maybe take a count daily or maybe even weekly...enough to show the different jumps and whether it was a fast or slow accumulation of followers...
And if you think about it...it obviously doesn't make sense that he could gain that many just from BB viewers starting to follow...graphs don't lie

What I'm saying is that I don't think it has tracked Caleb's stats much at all. A standard programming tenet for big data things like this is to only track the interesting stats on a semi regular basis. If no one is checking Caleb's numbers then it won't bother with him.
That's why the manual update feature is there. It's how it knows to take a data point outside of any regular checks. From now on if you come back to check Caleb's stats you'll see an accurate chart. As long as people remain interested in his account of course.
As for Tim's graph it's more likely to be accurate because I checked his stats way back, and probably others did as well. But like I said, it's still not definitive.
