Post BB - Housemate Antics 2013

How many non BB fans watch the Today Show or Getaway? Because those people will know who Tim is.

How many non BB fans read Sydney Confidential? Because those people will know who Tim, Tully and Drew are.

How many non BB fans listen to that radio show Tim was on? Because those people will know... you get the picture.

I'm not sure if doing one segment in Getaway or the Weekend Today Show now and again would really make him known to many non-BB fans. That's not a knock on Tim (I love the bloke), but I reckon when he popped up on those shows most of the audience would be thinking "who the hell is this guy with the cool hair?" If he starts getting more and more important gigs with Channel 9 I'm sure he'll make a name for himself out of the BB world, but at the moment I doubt many people would know who he (or any of the HMs were) unless they watched BB.

Same with Drew and Tully and the Confidential stuff. They're in there because people who watched the show are interested in following the relationship progress on the outside. I bet most of the readers would be wondering who they were.

Again I'm not knocking any of the HMs but just pointing out that I don't think any of them are really well known, or "famous" beyond BB fans. I know for me personally I'd never heard of one of them before the show started and I'd lived in Newtown (where Tim and Tully both live) since I was 19/20.

Well now you're talking about something more nebulous. There are bunch of reality TV shows (almost all of them) that I don't watch, but I still "know" about the people in them. In the end how can you objectively measure exactly how famous someone is? My point was that people know about Tim and other HMs because of their appearances in other media.

Yeah I noticed that in the car pic earlier too. Maybe those blonde ones were old and she just didn't mention it?

This doesn't look like the same hair to me. Even the length is different.

I certainly agree that it's difficult to really measure how "famous" someone is, and as a result I'm not surprised we see things differently here. In my view I don't really see any of the HMs being all that well known by anyone that isn't a BB fan (that's simply come from personal experience and instances where I've brought up people like Drew and Tully to non-BB fans and I've gotten nothing but blank stares in return), but I'm sure everyone has difference experiences with this.
