I actually don't remember Tim's rant she's referring to here...
Also, watch the Loonie haters start posting pics of her crying or being evicted...

(about 56:04 he nominates Tully)

I'm guessing this is the rant she's talking about (It's the Did you get that Tully rant). He pretty much rips into her about how they're from the same town but basically completely different and talks about her being a hipster and mean girl.

A little hyperbole there? To be honest, that girl's body concerns me more than anything. Someone like Jade looks fit and healthy, Tahan looks fine, but that girl's body to me is overdefined and the complete lack of body fat is worrying. And yeah, I think BDD is a growing problem exacerbated by the apparent need to look 'ripped'.

Genetics plays a large part in how fat is distributed on/in a person's body. Being a cheerleader would explain why she is physically active and how that could lead to having a toned body. And I don't know what BDD has to do with this, unless you know her personally and are aware that she is suffering from it?

Also, this is very important in case none of you could work it out- the lighting in that photo is the exact lighting you would use if you wanted to highlight muscularity on a person. In fact having the sun right above you will show any imperfections like cellulite to a high degree as well.

So there's a top tip for everyone. If you're buff go out around 12 to 1pm and get some pics and if you're not, try early morning or sunset or even strong cloud cover to get that nice, diffuse, blurry lighting effect ;)

Ok I didn't want to pop into this body debate as it always makes me feel uncomfortable but I think we're all friends here and I trust none of you will take offense and understand I mean no malice by my words:

That girl's body is fine. In fact that's what my body looked like in my late teens when I played elite basketball. I have a very similar build to her although *I think* I'm taller - she is small boned and naturally slim. You can tell from the difference in the shoulders of her and Tahan's broad shoulders what the random girls' natural body build is. I ate like a horse during that period... I had to or I wouldn't have been able to work out or compete and the muscle definition I showed was mainly a result of a lot of activity + being naturally slim and small boned. Even after a child I'm still closer to her body than Tahan's which I've talked about on here before somewhere in my flipping 6k posts. If she's a competitive cheerleader, I can understand why her body is the way it is because while I know some (not necessarily saying those in here) doubt it, it is actually a pretty full on sport requiring a lot of strength. For all I know she also loves those muscles and works to get that ripped look in her belly. If so, good on her. As long as she's not taking it to an extreme I'll never fault healthy eating and exercise, especially at a time when we're living in one of the most obese countries in the world.

Let's just remember... if that random girl had been overweight, no one would've dared to comment on her body. We've seen many photos like that in this thread and it's been crickets. Let's not go at a girl who happens to be on the other end of the spectrum and obviously puts some effort in to maintaining her health.

I forgot to say I'm not a fan of the body builder look on women that we see in those mags or whatever but this girl doesn't have quads bigger than my chimney, fake boobs and a neck thicker than a Macca's shake, loaded with poop brown fake tan. She's a young girl involved with a competitive sport and her body is a reflection of that. I suspect Tahlia's is because she seems to be at a beach surfing every chance she gets and that's besides whatever other exercise she may do. She's petite also so that activity will show more readily on her body than someone with a larger frame for example.

i really appreciate you only putting up the links, thanks :)

whispers, if they could always do that with boog and tully too i'd be a happy camper.. shhhhh #justathought
to be kinder, they could do that with Tim too i don't mind clicking links. click click click (stronger signal at work today).
I clicked your link btw, thanks for the anatomy lesson. #educational

Didn't so much mean to have a go at the girl, but was unhappy with the implication that Tahan had something to be jealous of getting her pic taken with this girl. Tahan is beautiful, no reason for her to envy anyone. Tim put a pic on his FB of him and Tahan and I read some of the comments and was enraged. Most of the rude ones appeared to be from men, they were saying, cos the pic showed a tiny lil tummy on Tahan, they were saying she looked like she was pg...

I freaking hate men who comment that women should be nothing but skin and bones, like the jackass who tweeted to Tully that she needed to lay off fast food cos she was looking bigger or some such bull. Pisses me off to no end. In their freaking dreams they could get a girl like Tahan or Tully, #jealousy #frustration #getarealiltycheckdumbasses :(

Cheers for posting the link!! It all came back to me very quickly... You're right, Tim was off Tully from very early in the game. I'm not sure he ever really warmed to her. I do remember him saying towards the end that he wished he'd connected with her more (or something). Anyways, that was weird to watch...especially Drew, minus Tully hanging off him!! His hair looked fantastic too...

Tahan has zero to be jealous of and I can't imagine she felt that way. The first thing I thought when I saw that pic was that it looked like the sun was in her eyes. Even if Tahan worked her ass off for that exact body - if she even wanted it, that is - I'm not sure she'd ever get it because she's bigger boned than that girl. It's funny because one of the biggest complaints about Tahan was about how full of herself she is and now people are thinking she might be jealous of a young girl, who competes in a sport, with a completely different body type to hers?! That's ridiculous.

I can only imagine that some of the guys who were calling Tahan fat were the ones who've said the same of Tully. As friggen if. No sane person would think either of those women were fat. It's actually pretty hilarious in a kind of morbid way when you think about it... a girl like Jade who works out and watches what she eats gets accused of having an eating disorder. Tully who doesn't seem to work out but is still very slim is called fat. Tahan who does work out ranges from being called too flat chested to wear that pink body suit (I was one of them) to a perfect body for swimsuit shoots to fat. Boog was too fat to be a fitness trainer, had too big of boobs, was too small for certain clothes, etc. How in the f do you win?

It's a lot of abuse for a young woman to take when chances are they're all going to have fallen off the radar by the time the next BB starts. It's not like they had training for what they were going to be exposed to when they came out. As much as I kind of hope someone in here would make it on BB so my friends and I could spend a year of our kids' tuition voting for them, I don't think I'd wish this social media scrutiny and shit on anyone.

So, what's 'BDD'?

Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Source: Mayo Clinic Staff

Body dysmorphic disorder is a type of chronic mental illness in which you can't stop thinking about a flaw in your appearance — a flaw that is either minor or imagined. But to you, your appearance seems so shameful that you don't want to be seen by anyone.

When you have body dysmorphic disorder, you intensely obsess over your appearance and body image, often for many hours a day. Your perceived flaw causes you significant distress, and your obsession impacts your ability to function in your daily life. You may seek out numerous cosmetic procedures or excessively exercise to try to "fix" your perceived flaw, but you're never satisfied. Body dysmorphic disorder is also known as dysmorphophobia, the fear of having a deformity.

Treatment of body dysmorphic disorder may include medication and cognitive behavioral therapy.
