If I were them I would choose to donate simply because I wouldn't trust Tim not to broadcast my bank account number lol

lt's a lot to donate though, so aside from the game-playing it's still a generous thing to do so good on him - it's good to see quite a few of them actually using their public profile to support causes.

Firstly he hasn't publicly named the ones who kept the money (yet) and not that it matters anyway. He's giving away $10,000! It's not like he'll get any benefit from that. The donations are in the HM's names so they'll be able to claim it as a deduction and get some actual money back from the ATO. So it's a win win situation for those that donate.

As for the HMs who keep the cash, well they'll end up with more money so good luck to them. It's not like Tim owed them anything anyway, if they want the cash and people find out about it then so be it. And yes if they don't want to play Timmy's little reindeer games they can just ignore the whole thing altogether with no harm done.

This goes to show why Tim deserved to win more than any other. He's just better at playing games and being entertaining. Keep up the good work, legend.

The fact that he tweeted this morning saying that "only 3 out of the 9 HMs to respond have decided to be nice" was obviously meant to shame the ones that decided to take it. Yes it's nice he's giving away $10,000 and some of it might make it to charity, but it takes away from the good deed him turning it into a ploy to shame his fellow HMs. Why not just donate the 10 grand himself? Or why not just give the HMs the 500 each as a gift and let them decide what they want to do with it without giving them an ultimatum or shaming them?

Two questions about these 2 pics...

Why would Tully bother tagging a dress you can't even see and what's with the inscription on the necklace? I just don't know...at what point in time did it become cool or hipster or whatever for girls to use such a term as 'best fkn bitch' to describe their friend? I know plenty of Tradies and Defence blokes who call their mates c**ts as a term of endearment so it's probably a double standard on my part but geez, now girls talk like that too?? Call me old fashioned or a prude, I like it not at all.

And - it's bullshit.
Tully is a wimp, a weepy wimp who could not stand on her own 2 feet, hardly a fierce bitch.
She reminded everyone of a giant toddler - she needs a new necklace, I'm a big sook or big baby would be realistic.
And why does she always look like Drew is her trophy, smug?

And re Christmas jumpers, where are they getting those things? Have never seen a real one.
Everyone I know does Christmas T-shirts.
And funny Christmas earings & hats.

And Tim - I would tell him to send the cash I will decide how to give it away thank you, no need to be public about this.
He would likely mock you, I would tell him to fuck off - and then perhaps he can deliver the money & gifts to the 3 needy families I know & don't want publicised.
And if I was a HM he targeted - it would be thanks for the consolation prize I helped you win, I will do with it what I want.

My feelings exactly. Or say he wants to donate $500 in each of their names to the charity of their choice. It is a generous use of some of his money, but why not go all the way and just do it kindly.

Firstly he should never just give them the money as gift because he owes them nothing.

Secondly, not all the HMs are good people or nice people or even people you would tolerate for any length of time. So who cares if some of them are showed up as not being as generous as other HMs?

Nothing changes the fact that Tim didn't need to give them any money and if they don't like his gameplay they can just ignore him. That's it really. If you want his cash then play his game. Kind of like how Big Brother works and clearly the HMs had no problems involving themselves with that.

Do you mean the pictures she takes of her and her boyfriend??? I'm confused....trophy??

I never said that he owes them anything or that he should just give them a gift. However if he wants to give them a gift (he said he wants to give them something for contributing to the "Tim Show") then he should just do that and let the HMs decide themselves whether to donate it to charity or not without being publicly shamed. If he doesn't want to do that then he should just donate the money to charity himself. If anything doing it this way will just reduce the amount of money the charities are getting because I bet quite a few HMs will rightfully just ignore it and not take the money for themselves or charity.

I think in general the majority of this years HMs are good people. A lot of them go to a lot of effort to support and promote charities and fund-raising events. Does that mean they're automatically not good people if they accept Tim's money? It's easy for people like Drew and Tully to give it up because people just give them pretty stuff for showing up, but what about people like Caleb or Sharon who aren't getting the advantages? Are they bad people who deserve to be shamed if they accept some money that they might actually need for Christmas?

Not worth it. Not liking her--totally fine. Thinking she was a sook on the show--obviously fine. But anyone who thinks she hasn't shown a lot of strength in the aftermath either hasn't been paying attention or won't give her a fair shake no matter what.

Thanks...I should know by now when not to even address uninformed posts like that one...

They're not being shamed! Just because Tim says they're being naughty for taking the money, who made him the judge of what's acceptable behaviour?

And again, in case it's not getting through with my previous words- If you want his money then play his game. Or ignore him, no big deal. Tim will end up giving the money to charity anyway.

Update on my @BBAU9 naughty or nice Christmas gift...out of 9 housemates only 3 have decided to be nice!!

I think it's pretty obvious he's trying to shame the ones that kept it.

And your point is certainly getting through. I just don't agree with it. I'm just saying that there's some of them that might not be in a position to be able to turn down $500 if it's offered to them by a friend. That doesn't mean they're bad people.

From Tim's tweets to the charities, the "nice" HMs so far are Tully, Drew, Xavier and Maddie.

ETA: and the Sugars...

1) A gift should be just the a gift, no strings attached
2) Tim didn't take care of his own bank info why would anyone give him their info
3) HM's may be concerned with their image they wouldn't want Tim present them as someone who wouldn't give to charity or if Tim didn't name names they could still be concerned that by announcing stat ( IE 3 of 9 ) that they will be erroneously identified in a negative light.
4)These people didn't have enough going for employment that they couldn't spare 4 months to be in the house, I'll venture to guess that all but Tully, Tahan, Heidi, maybe Jade, maybe Ed, maybe Maddie and maybe Ben really need the money and if this shame game stops them from taking it, then that is a shame on Tim.

Tahan now as well (though Tim's tweet says $100, and not $500). Through process of elimination, we'll soon find out who decided to keep the money for themselves.

They were offered a deal. They have the option to take it or not.

That's true. I'm sure Tim could arrange a cheque or paypal or even cash if they're in Sydney and want to pick it up.

Who cares if some of them are shown to be less generous than the other HMs? That is the consequence of playing his game.

None of them really need the money. They're not homeless and invalids with no chance of being able to work. They're young able bodied people, and most have jobs already. And let's not forget, this is Australia they're living in. There is welfare to cover you when times are tough.

Oh yeah he still thinks it's the Tim Show and they are his puppets. All part of his rampant ego. What a stupid "challenge".

Ok, if he's naming them, then that's the point where he's crossing the line. Even giving away the 3 out of 9 figure was a bit much.
