getting there ... but still a little lost going home after work and not needed to rush dinner and shoo husband away from telly ...

will probably remain semi-interested if I see them pop up in print media - I would read it at supermarket checkout out of curiosity but not pay $$ for the magazines ... never really believe what they print anyway ...

however feel the need to stay interested because need to have something to talk about here ... I'd suffer major withdrawals if I didn't check these boards at least once .. ok twice ... a day :)

Do they feature the HMs in the weekly mags over there? I don't think I've ever seen a BBUS HG on any of ours, but 4 out of 5 of ours have the Kardashians on the cover

Jade has said often that ed is into the same things she wants, which is to settle down, have kids etc. she wanted a family man, and ed gave her reason to think he is that and wants that. I do think she wants a married life with a secure future more than anything else. She would drop the entertainment industry for it I believe. I forgot about ed saying this on the dinner table.
Jade told Drew in the honeymoon suite that she fancied Ed and Matt. I think Ed is part Italian and has travelled to Italy, so I think he would be impressed by Jade speaking Italian:)

I don't follow twitter or instagram, actually I barely use my Facebook these days and when I do it's to talk to family overseas lol. Call me the anti social media freak if you will lol. I never understood the hype of Johnny Ruffo. I found him annoying for some reason, too suck up like. (Sorry to the fans out there, it's only my opinion, I'm sure he is an amazing person, just not my cup of tea). So jade has a Johnny Ruffo crush eh

Jade loved Home and Away, and followed and tweeted a few of the actors, especially the hot guys:)

It will be interesting to see which HM's end up having careers in TV, Radio, Modelling or on other reality shows, over the next few months:)

They'll have their brush with "fame" and be in magazines and maybe sunday newspapers will publish photos of parties they've been to ... gradually they get back into mainstream life though ... a few might keep popping up now and then ...

Does BB in the US do the appearances like they have here? (bowling alleys, nightclubs, festivals?) They seem to be dragging them between the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney ... 3 days here, 3 days there ... and mixing up the combo of who is where ...

That is incredibly unreasonable, yet what several people here think is appropriate. Tahlia dumped Tully. Their relationship is over. A weird expectation that Tully and drew shouid tone down the publicity of their relationship because of the person who dumped Tully is not just weird, it is super weird.

At this point we should not hear anything from Tahlia. She is completely irrelevant to Drew and Tully. We only hear about her because she is a bitter attention whore who had planned her coatriding fifteen minutes of public fame, but had it yanked out from under her.

I don't blame Tahlia for dumping Tully, even though what happened in the house was very complicated and not a clear cut case of cheating. However when she dumped Tully, that was it. Finis, done, fin. No more. It was over and she should have never been heard from again, unless she was trying to be a publicity and attention whore.

I think that's a bit rough, and quite hilarious too.
What you fail to realise is that just because Tahlia isn't relevant to Tully and Drew, it doesn't mean she's not relevant at all. She has become somewhat of a poster child for the betrayed, because, guess what, her long time, live in girlfriend DID cheat on her, and in front of all of Australia! Many Australians now (even if for only 15 minutes) are interested in her story and what she has to say.

Tahlia said it was over, then didn't want to talk about it any more, and then went to the mags. So what? She can't change her mind about what she wants to talk about? She can't be confused by it all from one day to the next? She should be silenced and banished? For what? For Tully? And the sake of Tully's relationship? Oh please!

Further, Tully, it seems, can do whatever she likes, and is certainly good at that. She can even cheat publicly and then have her fans pretending she didn't really cheat at all! Your average Joe would expect someone in her position to be a little bit humble and remorseful publicly. But we shouldn't really be surprised Tully is milking her new relationship, she milked her old one to get into the BB house in order to be a pinup girl for the lesbian community - that was one of her major angles going in. She used her longterm live in relationship in an attempt to pull it off. Hello!

You may not realise it, but Tahlia was a big part of the Tully story from the get go and to your liking she may fade away but you must also realise that the girl isn't some inconvenient little stain on Tully's cheek that you can wash away. She's a person who is going to get from this complete fk-up of a situation that Tully created, whatever she can. And so she bloody well should. I'm sick of people blaming the victim, it's ridiculous and nasty. If she was ever of the mind that she would benefit from her partners BB experience I'm sure that at the time it's what her partner wanted too. Now Tully's gone she should claim her compensation. It's her right to do so.

Holy hell! I can't believe people still think Tahlia is so much in the wrong and that Tully never really was. Quite perplexing indeed. Tully is certainly NOT the victim here.

There's really no point trying to argue rationally with this poster, they're quite possibly one of the most deluded on here.
I mean, they still don't think what Tully and Drew did was wrong despite the housemates feeling uncomfortable about it and Tully herself recognising it once she'd seen the footage outside the house.
That itself speaks volumes.

Yeah, a little bit, but people aren't really lining up for their chance to meet them. They also tried to sell some trademark things from this year for charity and only raised a few hundred, compared to Tim's $70,000. Even though we have higher ratings, your BB definitely seems like a bigger deal. None of our competition reality stars get much attention (Bachelor, Survivor, American Idol...), just the scripted, horrible ones, & they're even starting to lose popularity.

When does everyone think we will get over these housemates?

In all honesty, I'm about 50% over them and it's only been 1 week since the show ended.

I'm saying by the end of the year, I won't care one bit for them. If not earlier!

yeah I'm phasing them all out

they're overexposed and if they don't find a niche quickly it's goodbye

Australia is probably done with them already - we're probably the few ones still talking about them

maybe because we don't have a massive film and television industry nor the population that you have over there ...

Australians have a thing called Tall Poppy Syndrome - wonder if you've heard of it?

We love the underdog ... hence I think Tim tried a few times to portray himself as a bit of an underdog ... trying to make people think everyone had turned on him etc ... moving away from Drew, Tahan and Boog and focussing attention on Jade who he thought was the least popular of the final 5 - turning himself into an underdog ...

Our tall poppies (those who have achieved something and might be seen to be thinking they are above others) we cut down to size ... its not that we resent their successes ... just we dont want them big-noting themselves and believing they are any better than the rest of us ...

Yeah my 4yo has his heart set on seeing Tim, Mikkayla, Tully and to a lesser extent Tahan. I have a work thing tomorrow at the Langham (close to Crown) that he's coming to and I made the mistake of asking if he wants to go to the BB thing after. He's only ever seen them on commercials and the odd time he's watched me upload a live feed vid here to the forum but he LOVES those four (I think because of their facial expressions and voices) and he's convinced they'll all be there. When I explained to him for like the 30th time before bed tonight that only Tahan will be there and a few others, not Tim, Tully or Mikk he gave me the "yeah ok Mum you bullshitter" look and smile like when I say Santa isn't going to come if he doesn't clean up his toys. I'm almost scared to bring him to Crown now in case he cracks it when he realises I was telling him the truth.

Lol. This gave me one of the best laughs.

The beauty of all of it is that Tahlia is perfectly justified in stating her opinion, as is Tully, as is Drew. It is a complicated situation in which no 'one' person is in the right.

We can argue and debate about it all we like, but really? They need to say and do whatever makes them happy. It's just entertainment for us.

My opinion (which counts for nothing, as above) is that the hypocrisy of Tahlia selling out to a glad rag is astounding. She lost any 'moral high ground' that she had the minute she gusseted up for a tabloid. Tully has been keeping reasonably quiet about Drew and not commenting on things, as is respectful in the situation. Drew is defending his new girlfriend who is being attacked by trolls.

Yeah this is pretty much how I feel about the whole situation.

Obviously people's life experiences has some more sympathetic to one party rather than the other.
Tully, atm, despite being controversial in the house has come up looking better than both Drew and Tahlia.

I've never heard the saying, but we have a similar attitude. We tend to cheer on the underdogs....most of the time. I think the exceptions are situations like Tim vs. Jade. In the BBAU thread I visit that's mostly Americans, the majority were Tim fans & most really didn't like Jade. The emphasis that Jade didn't add entertainment value outweighed her status as underdog. But we definitely like to take people down a few notches if they get cocky. ;)

AtalantaRose Couldn't have said it better myself. Great post. (Also, lovely cat! I used to have a tortie:))

Yep, I agree. And I'm not knocking her for it, she's lovely and very maternal so it's something that is natural for her to want. I just hope that if Ed isn't the right guy after all, that she can at least give the acting gig a shot. Home and away might actually be the best gig. Apparently it's a great training ground for a lot of actors due to the filming schedule; the rate at which they have to quickly learn lines; the budget constraints that cause them to be on point to get their takes done; not to mention the duties outside of filming - promotional work, dealing with the TV industry in general etc.
If she lands a role there I might actually start watching the show. :)

Really good post. Thank you, and I agree. I'll never understand why people try so hard to see human behaviour in black and white when we're all actually very colourful. :)

Her mom said she had a few offers from channel nine. So she will probably work there. We will see.
