the obligations thing is overplayed she traveled for NYE, he is free to travel (for the most part) the dog is with tah every other week and they have mutual friends with dogs that could help if necessary, her mother is in some sort of a care home and Tully can visit her often and still carve out more time for Drew (like she did in the beginning).

The Today show is the only formal work either one of them seem to have and she does that no more than once a week

Tully is a person that needs a lot of attention and she likely wants it most from her partner so if she isn't getting it from Drew then maybe she is getting it from one of her GF's (maybe the one she is next to in the lesbian gang signs pic today, that girl went to the movie premier with her(not Byrdie the other one), was at NYE with her, got together with her around Christmas Eve).

Ah see this is what the problem is. The both have taken precisely one whole whopping trip each that didn't involve a Ch 9 appearance or one for another organisation (when Tully and Drew drove down from Sydney) and they were Tully's trip right before Xmas and the trip Drew took to Sydney when David had his race and he came straight back for his dad's birthday. Every other time they were together someone else was paying whether it was for their flights and accommodation or just flights. And sure Drew is free to travel... my point is travel is not free. Where is the money coming from to travel when as you said, neither of them are working?!

So now thinking of it that way, one paid trip for each of them in 2.5 months. That's the real world when you're unemployed and no longer have someone footing the bill for you to fly to see your partner. And visiting your new boyfriend/girlfriend once a month or *gasp* even maybe once every 6 weeks is more than reasonable so I guess that's why I struggle with why people are expecting them to keep up anything close to the rate of being together when they now have to pay for it themselves and also need to sort their lives out pronto re work. Like I said, if it's this time in February and they haven't been spotted again then I'd start to wonder what's up. Although the way they're being on SM now I think we'll have to rely on randoms seeing them together as I don't think Drew will post a pic since he never did when she was there during Xmas even before they supposedly "broke up".

Jade would help her cause greatly if she were to get a new agent and take some acting classes (if she is serious about that career path).

I think Jade looks her age, which is fine. But it puts her in a strange age bracket for Home and Away.

Boog has paid to do courses at NIDA. It would be the best place to start. To become a full-time student is a different story, but perhaps she could audition when she's more confident.

Even the last time Tully went to see Drew, it looked to me that she cut the trip short.
If you did overcome these obstacles to see your long-distance bf, it doesn't make sense that she went out one of the nights/days with a group of girls there and there was mention of her cutting the trip short, Tahan setting up tickets, to go watch the dog so Tahlia could go out on the town.

Re this whole long distance relationship thing between Tully and Drew.

My brother's girlfriend is American and he just got back on Monday from visiting her in the States. I know comparing a couple who live in different states compared to a couple living on opposite sides of the world is a bit of a stretch, bu both barely see each other. My bro and his GF speak on the phone all the time. I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread that Drew and Tully do the same. Yes Tully is a very emotionally needy person, but I am sure that she has a number of close friends in her life to fill that role in person while she is not around Drew. Luckily for my brother later this year he will be getting deployed to Virgina to work on a ship which will make him at least be in the same country as his GF. In regards to Tully and Drew I think they are fine and the stars have not aligned for them to live in the same state yet, but perhaps in the future things will change and they could live closer together.

That trip coincided with Luna being rushed to the vet with a mystery illness (even though it was over exaggerated) and the first bad news article bring published. Still agree about the girl night bit - that was a bit strange. Seemed like she was over emotional and needed some girl support. But we will never know what really happened that weekend.
 
Just regarding the Tully and Drew separation... I may have the wrong end of the stick here but would it be accurate to say that Dougal and Tully don't really get along? Also, I think the speculation does have some credibility but I don't think it's to do with them not flying to see each other. It seems Tully is still hanging on to her Newtown lesbian scene (cheers [MENTION=24613]Reaper[/MENTION] for putting me on to that quality series!)... And perhaps Dougal and Drew's other friends have their own opinions on all of that...

the trip was right after Tully rushed the dog to Sydney to the vet, the dog was shaved and checked out (had a stomach ache), and then she went to see Drew

we don't know the details but it seems strange

Seriously, what gives you the impression Tully and Dougal don't get on?

I imagine the lesbian community may not be fond of Drew, it seems like Dougal gets along with everybody and he is "dating" Tully's friend Jazz (seems like a plus to me).

i think Tully and Dougal seem to get on fine

Tully is probably more patient and less needy than some people think. some of us, the romantic ones, are holding out for hope of Drully series 2, ha. so wish i was cold hearted sometimes :)
