Post BB - Housemate Antics 2013

Obviously we all watched through our own lenses, but IMO, the fact that anyone could come away arguing that Tim faced so much adversity/copped so much etc. illustrates perfectly just how good a manipulator he really was.

And now before the Drully thing gets rehashed again I'm going to go lie down, maybe on the floor, in darkness.

he was blamed for everything by everyone. They had group discussions on how best to corner him. He was screamed at for everything and others involved remained blameless. If you don't think he copped grief from the others then we must have been watching different shows.

That was about a third of the way thru the series. And my take on that was that the popular clique (as dumb as some of them were) realised Tim had a sizeable fanbase at that point and to bring him down they thought repeatedly calling him a manipulator/jerk/etc would counter it.

Obviously their ill-advised propaganda was never going to work given that none of the housemates get to choose what makes to air and thus were not aware that they were made to look like delusional desperate deadset gooses instead.

Towards the end (last month or so) of the season he had nobody left but mumbling Ed (the sole remaining survivor of the 'popular kids' cllique) attempting to paint him in a negative light with little to no success. As a matter of fact I think Ed's ridiculous hypocrisy backfired on him and only helped to increase Tim's popularity.

However Tim's more subtle besmirching of Boog (she's picking on me! wha wha wha call a whambulance!, dey scurrr of me because I dare to be unique etc...) and Drew (he's riding my coattails, flown under the radar and done nothing of note to have made it this far etc...), the 2 housemates he correctly assumed were the last remaining contenders, worked to devastating effect. And that's the main reason why I went off tim in the last fortnight or so of the show.

hang in there little bear everything is going to be alright

Tim was only up 5 times once was the first week and once he put himself up, he wasn't in the firing line much (Ed's cards don't count he could never seem to pull them out of where he kept them)
That's because once he put himself up and was saved from the public, no one wanted him on the bench as they suspected that he'd be saved, thus whittling down their own chances of surviving. Which was exactly Ed's reason for putting Jade up instead of Tim. It wasn't because they didn't want him gone - of course they did! - they were scared of his popularity with the public and were in self-preservation mode. I actually think that's when the whole game changed. That and Ben going home as no one saw that coming. HMs started to scramble and were in panic mode because they couldn't figure out a way to get rid of Tim as nothing they were trying worked and even Ben couldn't outlast him.

I forgot to add - I think Tim sacrificing himself is a one shot deal. If someone tries it again in a future BB series, I think it'll probably backfire on them terribly with the public.

Or you could have a drink…I mean the sun's over the yardarm and it's even a weekend.

I think Ben going home unexpectedly really changed the course of the game. I still think Tim would have won, but it was massive.

see everyone thought tim was running the show, but he guessed who would go home on a few occasions and that's about it. He and ed didn't like each other and he said that pushing ed and jade together would send ed home...pigs, he got rejected and that was pure ego talking....and ed stayed longer because of jade probably. Occasionally he alluded to something someone had said to stir the pot but they really did give him too much credit, he even said that himself. One minute drew annoyed him and he said so, then they were buddies. He hated tully and wanted her gone but she stayed for ages (and if he really wanted to stir things up between drew and tully he could have, it wouldn't be hard). The big fiasco when matt or caleb went home was because he saved mikkayla and put himself up and one of them went. It wasn't a master plan, HE could have gone home but they all got paranoid as though he was the messiah.

I think it's also important here to point out that he usually nominated the person who was most likely to go anyway. That made the others think he was somehow all powerful and getting people evicted, when in reality he was just good at determining who wasn't popular on the outside. A lot of them in there (particularly Heidi, Ed, etc) had a completely warped perception of who was popular on the outside. He was lucky that his perceptions were right, it was the others that gave him more power than he really had.

He obviously did stir the pot, which caused HMs to react and get into arguements, but that's their own perogative. If they cant control their own reactions to him then they probably deserve any falls from grace they have at their own hands. People's real character is shown when they're under pressure, not when everything is going smoothly. I for one was happy we got to see that. But regardless, Tim was completely open with all of this. He told the audience what he was doing and the HMs themselves when one of them actually bothered to ask him instead of just bitch in fear behind his back. I remember once when Jade straight out asked him if that's what he was doing and he just said yes, no coverups or trying to manipulate the situation to make him look like a victim. He admitted himself he had no master plan, he just caused chaos and let things settle where they may. And what's wrong with that? Did any of you really want to watch them sit around singing Kumbaya?

They were saying he was in the line of fire, but as you said he effectively demonstrated that he was safe making the other HM's that would put him up think twice about it (especially the scared ones).

he begged Jade not to repeat that to anyone

But isn't this whole issue about him trying to manipulate the public? When she asked he could have just said that she was complete off base and played innocent to the public but he didn't. He was totally honest about it...just as he was to BB in the diary room.

I don't think Tim lied much at all, probably why I still liked him, he manipulated by telling people that he thought would agree that he was tired of a certain HM and they would go off on that HM and he would sit back and watch
To the public he used his comments to try to sway public opinion to wanting his target out

Regards Tim and Bens trip.

Maybe I have been reading too much here and have fallen into the deep speculation hole, but something I found interesting or possibly just a total coincidence is this.

It has been reported that Tim is taking a film crew along and will try to sell the finished product to CH9. Fair enough good to see Tim backing himself. Here is the kicker though.

In video 1 Ben seemingly randomly says Oh we should go to Dallas as well. They are heading to South America, depending on what they are doing, Buenos Aires is not a bad jump off point. Now Ben wants to go to New York.

Now strangely or just coincidence Qantas happens to fly direct to these 3 Destinations, Dallas/Fort Worth, JFK - New York and Buenos Aires.

Maybe Tim has done a deal with Qantas.

Am I becoming a good speculator or just a nit wit.?

I'm sorry, but I think this is far too measured. You need to try harder ;)

When I went to South America 3 years ago, they didn't have the Qantas flights, everyone got LAN to Santiago, Chile.

You might be onto something.

If they have got someone willing to pay for it, I say go for it! Much better the typical post BB nightclub appearances the fading into obscurity.

The next Timmy & Ben video comes out on the 8'th, hoping Tim says something then about all of this. He told Ben they would go to Graceland early in the New Year so it shouldn't be too long off.
