Actually [MENTION=37335]prufrock[/MENTION]... a longtime, regular poster on the forum who for some f'n reason has decided not to bother with our fun thread now that BB has ended (f'n biatch) just msg'd me on Facebook to say "you and pru didn't automatically think of her because you're not bigots. you didn't assume just because she's black she'd care. lay off yourselves. nothing wrong with not seeing skin colour"

So yeah!!

Nice! I must admit I thought of Rohan because in SA he would have been 'coloured', but Xavier was because I think he's smart and his politics seem to match with mine

It's weird how our brains make associations like that. I watched some of the people I expected on social media to acknowledge his passing, whether because of their skin colour or just awareness/politics but then I was surprised - and I admit somewhat skeptical - when others did. Some of them I should be skeptical about considering other things they've said about asylum seekers and similar, but a few others there was no reason for me to question them and yet I did. I sat back wondering if they were just 'mourning' because they felt they should and to take part in sympathygramming and griefinspo. Not cool on my part and yet I'm still not 100% convinced I'm wrong.

It's weird how our brains make associations like that. I watched some of the people I expected on social media to acknowledge his passing, whether because of their skin colour or just awareness/politics but then I was surprised - and I admit somewhat skeptical - when others did. Some of them I should be skeptical about considering other things they've said about asylum seekers and similar, but a few others there was no reason for me to question them and yet I did. I'm quite sure you're right. Some will always parrot, and yes we should be sceptical. I did a Tully today…I kept crying. I remember believing that apartheid would never end and that Mandela would die on Robin Island.

My mother met with him at Robben Island somehow. I didn't understand any of it as I was just a kid. She was a psych and also what we'd call very independent today so I'm not sure what the deal was. (maybe some kind of N. American Democratic peace envoy?) I just knew that it was a big deal because we had people come to our house to talk to my dad and neighbours before she left (I assume security stuff) and then when she got back she put a portrait of Nelson next to her autographed pic of Elvis - SHE LOVED HIM - in our hall way and she took those pics to every house we had. The one thing I remember is when I started to freak out about Chernobyl due to where we living at the time and I have family in the Ukraine, she kept going on about stuff Nelson said. Didn't sink in at the time but I sure as f wish I remembered it now.

I'm thinking they wouldn't let Justynn within 500 metres if he'd even want to go at all. Maddie lives on the Gold Coast (she only lived in Sydney briefly for work I think) and I suspect either Tully's too wrecked from her friend's party or she'll be making an appearance soon. Mikkayla was in Melbourne last night... not sure if she's back yet though!

I still don't understand why Justynn has been treated this way, he was on the show, he should be in the celebrations. Only bit I've heard from him post BB is on Tims Twitter page 2 days ago:

I really think Ch 9 is embarrassed. Justynn outed them for going to a talent agency to find someone and then giving him a specific character to play with specific instructions on what to do. I don't believe he took a swing at Ed or anything like that... Tim for sure would've said it by now considering he doesn't have much time for Ed as it is. If not before now, especially now that he's got the cash. He's blabbed about everything else.

But of course, only a select few will see that kind of stuff... the rest just tune into BB a couple of days a week. It says a lot that Tim has no hard feelings although he knew from the get go why Justynn was put in there... if he wants to hang out with him now - the guy who could've cost him 250k thanks to Alex and Ch 9 - then it says there's a lot more to Justynn that we didn't see.

If I were Tim I would be railing against Alex because really wtf is that? You go hire some guy from a talent shop, give him a character and a specific mission in the house? It's 250k at stake.

Same for Jade. Bring in Maddie to try to tempt Ed. Nice buildup before she went in the house and even with how she was introduced to the HMs. Way to fuck with someone who was already getting hammered outside the house for her obsession with the guy.

Those two intruders were brought in for no other reason than to fuck with 2 specific housemates. I don't think that's cool at all.

Thank you Delcan. I just think mean things about Ed have been out of hand by certain posters. I started a Ed appreciation thread and was pilloried and reviled by many so i had to stop it. I don't know why people on this thread never ever have a kind word about him. Thanks for saying that you are trying to be fun about him. A lot of people support me.

I posted a nice comment about him visiting his old pup. I don't hate the guy at all, but during the show I was so nervous about Tim getting to the end and Ed was his #1 enemy in the house so I sure wasn't feeling warm and fuzzy toward him then. I'm enjoying seeing him relaxing with his family and real friends and hope things go well for him. Hope he can get the job he wants, he really is a nice guy.

OT! But did you get a lot of snow where you're at? I'm from the same area

I was at work when it hit here, was freezing rain for a while then thankfully turned to snow but was an icy snow that stuck to everything, was fun scraping my car out, lol, NOT. Hate that as my hands get frozen quick. Weather girl says we got 5 inches of snow, schools are closed today and most my family spending day in pjs watching movies and got all the Christmas decorations up. They usually do a great job of treating the main roads, so my travel to work today shouldn't be too bad, long as the road hogs don't slide into me. The temp is due to drop to 2 degrees F tonight and I have my heat tape plugged in to protect my water pipes. Fingers crossed they don't bust.

How much did your area get? Stay safe and warm tonight.

As a kid I was always to scared to watch the fire swamp scene. Does your daughter get scared during that part?
