I am always alarmed at who chooses to study psychology. We should thank the gods that statistics is still a mandatory course. It weeds out a fair number of the wannabes.

Good perspective. He probably would have definitely benefited being in the house for longer then so we could see what makes him tick more. Would have provided something different in there as numbers got smaller perhaps.

Yes she may write with bias, but we read it with our own biases as well.

Regardless of whether you agree with the content or not I think she deserves credit for the extent of her research and how articulate she is to get her points across.

I don't know if that's really the case. She LOVES Tim, always has but other than the interview she got with his friend, I've found everything else she's written useless because it's so slanted towards him as if he's some perfect angel when even I'm the first to admit he has many flaws. The same goes with Jade and in reverse if you don't like Tahan as she's teed off on her many times. For someone who calls themselves the Social Observant I don't see how obvious bias towards and against HMs fits in with the whole observing thing.

Then again I suppose you're right if someone's the type who just puts their favourite on a pedestal (and admittedly there seem to be a lot of those fans out there) then her blog is the perfect place for them. I don't really get the sense that many left in here are though. And THANK HOHO for that!!

I agree she writes from her own perspective, but then I don't think she owes it to anyone to be unbiased though, she's an individual writing a blog, she doesn't represent the media (who themselves are biased).
I found it interesting because I hadn't been following some of those housemates so for me it was good to see it all in one place.

Fair enough. I stopped taking her seriously when she started hyping up the hysteria around Dafyd (sp?) Reynolds buying Tahan's time in the house. As a blogger, she has every right to be biased I know, but I find her sanctimonious and very conservative.

Her 'research' only ever extends far enough to support her point of view. She doesn't go into it with an open mind as far as I can see at all. Never mind, she's a blogger with a bias. That's why there are blogs :)

I get your point, but I think what we need to remember though is that at the end of the day she's just a fan as well. She's obviously going to have her own favourites (Tim obviously) and those she doesn't like as much. It's not like she's being paid to write this stuff for the show on the OS or something. She's allowed to have biases, just as fans are allowed to decide whether they read it or not.

I admit that I like her work, but it's nothing to do with putting a favourite on a pedestal. I just find she shares some of the same opinions as I do but can articulate in a way that I cant. Kinda makes me think "Okay, maybe I wasn't going crazy for thinking what I did. Obviously at least one other person has noticed some of the things I have". But, at the same time, obviously someone who doesn't share the same opinions isn't going to like it because it wasn't what was going through their minds when they thought of a particular HM. I agree that a lot of the info is uninteresting (mostly because I think in here we usually find stuff pretty quickly) and as a result her blogs are just re-hashing stuff that we'd already seen.

Hahaha yeah that was exactly my point. She's just a fan like us at the end of the day. She's going to have her biases. If she's biased towards the HMs we like there's more chance we'll like her than if she was biased against the ones we like.

I didn't think I had to mention it lol? It just further highlights my point though that people will be more inclined to like a blogger if they like someone you like...just as it's more likely you'll dislike them if they dislike someone you like...

with regard to Xavier I still think the task Surly gave him - to whinge constantly during the day got him nominated and up for eviction ... I don't think he would have lasted much longer BUT I don't think he necessarily would have been up that week
