I think the wombats cartoon guy is a paparazzi guy who has a crush on a celeb. I laughed at the dog as well

I just find it annoying when people roll their eyes etc. when other HM's are doing courses etc. to be actors/presenters etc. I am more saying he is very fortunate to be given this opportunity, and rather than call the other HM's who are trying to achieve what Ben has "losers" or "desperate", maybe acknowledge that some of them are working hard, that just haven't been as "lucky" as Ben to be given the same opportunity. Ben is more than welcome to take that opportunity. But it doesn't mean he has worked harder or is more talented to than other HM's.

Channel 9 is finding spots for the popular HM's, of which Jade was one, they have tried to tie these opportunities to a strength the HM's have displayed. Ben has a massive knowledge of movies and of 1930'40'50'60"s music. Not many are concerned with the old time music but loads of people like movies so this was/is a good spot for Ben. He got off to a shaky start but the more he does it the better he gets. Tim does shock jock and radio type gags so they use him for that. Tully is well spoken and willing to go out early in the morning to parks and such (and she has put herself out there). With Jade she separated herself from things and layed low for a while and she also hasn't displayed any specific knowledge or any specific talent (she looks great modeling bikinis but there isn't much they can do with that) so 9 really doesn't really have a niche to slide her into. Generally Jade is a nice and pleasant person but she never really displayed a lot of personality and she wasn't nearly as extroverted as some of the others. Tahan has appeared in some music videos which at least gives her some type of acting experience (this would be why she might be considered for the soap , if that is the case).
 
I think it also has to do with who Ch 9 feels they can make money off of at the end of the day. As a Tim fan I remember feeling a bit ummm ok when that Ch 9 exec said Tahan was the person who had garnered the most offers and interest "by far" out of all the other HMs. Even when they announced back in Nov that her and Tim would be doing Getaway I was like whoa she came in third, what about the girl who came second? However then I remembered Tahan talking about how she had attended film school already and was ready to make that film with her friend and obviously she has the looks so I probably shouldn't have been so surprised. She's done the work already, has the personality and unless the Ch 9 guy was lying, is the most popular person from that season from a media standpoint. Being on a reality show is a chance to get your name out there and might even get you that first chance but you have to do the work. Look at someone like Grant Hackett trying to read the sports news. He has much more fame than any BB contestant past and present will ever hope for and yet still got sacked from a job that was perfectly tailored to him because he sucked. I have zero time for Ben but if Ch 9 is still asking him back it's because he's worked to improve from what we saw from his first attempts. When we learned in here that Ed was taking a presenting course - as it turns out with one of the MKR twins - no one mocked him for trying and this is when his fanbase = 1. No one's denigrating Jade for trying to learn and improve as it's a friggen awesome quality. That's why it's rather confusing to watch Delcan essentially argue with no one and/or themselves and derail things yet again. Just childish.
