Post BB - Housemate Antics 2013 - Part 2

Given the excitement, I must be the only person who would rather eat their own eyeballs than see Tim go back into the house

He is so 2013, his time in the BB house should be over.

It is time for the House of 2014 to shine, and we don't need Tim to help do that.

You're absolutely not. Like @jo_jo I just find the whole thing really weird. What do they want him to do? Go in there and teach them how to be entertaining or something? Tim played an entertaining game no doubt but gawd I don't need to see a rinse and repeat. give the current mob a chance to play their game before sending them a huge message they're not good enough because they're not playing exactly like Tim did. I find the current HMs pretty boring but a revival of last season with a new cast I would find equally (if not more) so. People like Lisa and Travis are bringing themselves down just fine as it is, don't need Tim for that.

Tim was one of my favourites last year and I was very happy he won but his time has well and truly come to pass the mantle.

I disagree with you, rather strongly ... But you are DEFINITELY not the only one on here not excited.

he is the perfect person to do this.

I find you very sexy when you disagree with me, particularly when it is "rather strongly".

Webcam?

p.s. Seriously, his time has to be up soon! I have got to the stage I can't fucking stand him. And I seriously want my $7 in win votes back!!!!

Okay so Tim was a great HM last year but I have absolutely no desire to see him back in the house. Been there, done that. It seems likes a desperate ratings grab to me if he only found out on Friday, and maybe instead of going for a stunt they should admit that they picked a bunch of duds this year by choosing HMs based on who they knew and not on their personalities.

I am looking forward to him calling out Lisa though and i hope he follows through with that. I just hope the whole thing wont be too cringeworthy. His "look at me look at me" almost got too much for me last year and I imagine his entrance will be a lot worse this year now that he knows he's the "star". I also don't want to see him rally the troops against the cool kids either like he said he was. I don't want a replay of last year (as much as it was a better series) I want to see how these current HMs would handle the dynamics...not just do what Tim would because they're getting info from the outside world.

Totally agree. I don't want Tim - or any previous season HM, for that matter - in this season. They have had their time and need to step away.

This season has to sink or swim on its own, and these HMs have to be allowed their time and experience. If the show stinks it is because of the way it is being run, edited and limited - and Alex needs to address that - not bring back someone else.

Exactly. Tim is seen as a quick fix to try and make up for the mistakes they've made this year in production and HM selection IMO.

Hmm. I might not mind seeing Tim shake things up a bit, depending on how it goes--this season hasn't exactly been appointment television for me yet--but in theory it seems like an awfully pathetic move. They shouldn't need to pull something like this so early on.

But they really, really need him. The show can't go on the way it is. I am looking forward to seeing him in the house, it might make BB show us the HMs as well (I hope) :playful:

I'm not opposed to Timmy coming in and livelying up the joint say when entering the last fortnight or so of the show but in Week 2? Seriously? O_O

That move this early screams of desperation, nothing good can come of a temporary 'intruder' who could 'tamper'/influence with the house dynamics by 'accidentally' feeding the hms information from the outside. That's also something that Timy was very mindful of when Boogs and Maddie entered the house last year, constantly fishing for clues from those 2 'noobs' that could help them in the 'game'.

Stunts are not what this show is about anyway; it's about observing people interacting cooped up in a small space removed from the real world for several weeks on end and the shenanigans that unfold from that. But it seems the producers have completely forgotten about that or they're intentionally moving away from that concept and creating some bastardised fusion of Survivor and BB.

I hope Tim can give the show a little more direction and change the obvious group formation happening. Ultimately it's the behind the scenes that are effing this up though. There is no schedule in place and no mindmap for what they want each week. It's pull tricks as they show goes on which is confusing them and us as viewers. they need to engage the audience with the hms on a mental level and they have failed at that. So whilst tim can garner interest and yes I think he can do it, the bb workers need to put some plan in place before they play out every trick before the half way mark

Yeah, I don't think I would have minded Tim going in later in the series to liven things up if it was getting flat. If it's true there won't be intruders this year then it would be a perfect opportunity given they'd expect new people but get Tim instead lol.

It just reeks of desperation it happening now though. It's like they're pretty much telling the HMs they want them to play exactly like Tim. They haven't even given them a chance yet to play their own games. I think they got lazy after last years success personally and think they can just chuck Tim in there to make another successful series without doing the hard yards (actually producing a show people want to watch).

Next desperate ploy will be sending Tully in to kiss someone and tell them she's single.

I agree, they realised they made a massive cock-up and are sending him in to teach them how to be better HMs. I'm on the fence about the whole thing, I think part of the great thing about Tim last year was his interaction with that group of HMs, it will be interesting to see his dynamic with this lot. I'll reserve judgement till after I see what goes down, cause at this point in time, the show is so bland they just need to do anything.

Could they be panicking as not many votes are coming in? Not making the money they expect to make because of poor television. After 2 weeks not many people have decided who to follow and support.
Could be. Or maybe those crappy Wednesday ratings shook them up and that's why they called him Thursday or maybe a combo of both? I think the voting structure for this first eviction would have an effect on the voting #s also. Even though I had said I wasn't going to spend a cent this year without live feeds, I've admitted that I probably would have sent a few votes David's way this week to try to help him out. But because the HMs are making the final decision as to who goes home, there's a greater chance that I'm Beyonce sitting here typing this to you than there is of me giving them a penny. I know I've seen people voice the similar complaint on here and on social media also. What's the point of voting when you don't even have the final say anyway?

They certainly have thrown the baby out with the bathwater. ;) Hi Beyonce hehe.
