Post BB - Housemate Antics 2013 - Part 2

I have a thing about it making sense. Like when Jade posted a photo of her in her bikini briefs and tried to pass it off as a Rabbitohs tweet or when Tahan posted a bikini picture and tried to pass it off as an state of origin tweet. Or when Delta Goodrem stripped and tried to pass it off as dental health care (although that's obviously Oral B's idea). For some reason stuff like that has me rolling my eyes. If you want to show off your hot body just do it. Don't try and play it like its something else. Not an idiot, if this was really about rugby it did not require a picture of your ass Jade/Tahan. I don't want them to stop, but call a spade a spade.

they were going to operate tonight but here was something about the recovery time ...was too much to take in at the time, so I'm sure I'll find out more in the morning.



my MIL donated her kidney first but it only lasted a couple of years for some reason, so my hubby was the next suitable donor...he flew to NZ for the op but it was several years ago now..his brother is still doing great:)

I so remember when my girl got really sick - Pancreatitis - she nearly died at 6 months old. I was devastated and didn't get much sleep whilst she was in the hospital for 4 days. It is amazing how much love they bring, and to think they maybe suffering and not be able to communicate what is wrong breaks your heart at times.
I get keep getting reminded that Dogs are tough, and they are and they do recover quickly with the right treatment.

Groan. Does she really have to tweet this stuff? Maybe I am behind the times. Is it passé to pick up the phone these days...to do a little bit of homework? Maybe it is. Maybe you just tweet and the universe provides. And what tedious product will this project result in. Will it be Tully prancing around being self absorbed and oblivious to anything else than Tully. And how fashion/social media/alcohol/ loneliness/peer pressure affect/s Tully. Possibly a dog will make an appearance. Sorry for meanness.

Rather than seeing it as attention seeking, I see that they are all using marketing strategies to different degrees. Tully in particular is using social media as an advertising tool - it is an income earning capacity for her. I was trying to work out what the Tully/Tahan shoot was for. Unless there is a magazine release in the future, it appears to me to be an advertising strategy for all involved- the models, the photographer and the stylist. The release was strategic - it got media coverage. It was actually very smart. Tully has followed on with designer posts - mostly Tigermist, but there have been some others. I can see her strategy playing out. Tully's Instagram following has done a U turn from going south to heading back upwards again, quite dramatically. I empathise with those that see it in a different light and are sick of the endless model poses, but I can now see how she is strategising - there is an order to how she posts. It is no longer haphazard or random posting - She is working it to her advantage.

Yeah... I just find it a bit ... déclassé shall we say. And kind of lazy. I like smartphones and tablets and email and the internet... But I am from a different era. It seems to have become an addiction and a hollow substitute for real content sometimes.

From your posts it seems you might have a problem with people using their sexuality/looks to get attention. Is this the case? Or are you just pointing out the obvious?

True. I can see your point. It is a targeted market - not one that we are in. I don't necessarily see it as lazy - just different. As with most end products, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, we only see a finished product. I just found the strategy interesting.

does it though? i have yet to purchase a product EVER that has been advertised this way. if there is a 'sexy' person licking a chocolate ice-cream, i don't see the person, i see the chocolate, and i buy it for the chocolate ONLY. i also buy socks because my feet are cold, not because they look hot with my unbuttoned shirt while i am half naked in the middle of Winter. advertisers think sex sells, it just gets noticed
 
as far as Tully is concerned with her strategic advertising, fair enough if her SM was just that, but she includes her private life with her business life, and i find it really distracting from what she is trying to achieve

if this is the way she has been heading, i also question the strategy of the Drully game playing once again, are they/aren't they, keep checking on my posts to see if we are or not, and if we went to the movies or not, and whether we give you the finger or not, and look at my clothes while you are at it. and then there is the 'see if i am in a good place or not'. i should not be saying this as someone very close to me is about to do this very thing, but where the F is advertising going?

Well, not really in my mind as well, it was just a comment to the general way that advertising has been. I know, I would never look like or be like those that model to advertise, but it seems that the recall of the product, whilst browsing, comes through some sort of stimulation. Hence as you say, noticed.
Maybe it is more about the amount of times one is subjected to the visuals, with the impact that they wish to achieve.
I suppose the 'Summer' look in Winter, is something for the younger ones ... 'cause I never felt the cold, as I do these days!

when a product involves an image of sex, my mind does not connect the 2. what i mean is i normally look at the sexy and ignore the product as my mind is focused elsewhere. this does not mean everyone thinks the same and i don't think it is an age thing, just people's thought process. obviously if the product is something like Victoria's Secret then you would advertise it as that, but socks, they are just socks

you could be right about the amount of times we see it, or we could completely zone out because it becomes a repetitive image
 
what i said above doesn't makes sense to what i had said previously. if i see food, like chocolate, :) then the opposite occurs, the sexy is not required on this product, get off the image and let me see the real pleasure
