It's a whitlam's lyric from the song 'Melbourne'. He might be a poet but Tim Freedman penned those particular lines (I think, or presumably one of the whitlam's did).

I never usually identify with lyrics and songs in general but that is a pretty good summary. Looks like a good find, I don't usually see a lot of good straight edge songs. Mostly I just find stupid/funny stuff like Grum and The Beards. Did you have a tough time understanding me before?
 
To cut a long story short and $7000 later, Lolly will be having a kidney removed, and bladder emptied of stones tomorrow morning. she passed a lot of stones when she finally pee'd at 5am, and is feeling a little better even after no sleep last night. she still won't eat or drink. she will be spending 2 days at the Vets, and hopefully will be home on Thursday afternoon. she's at home now resting, usually she follows me everywhere but is having quiet time in the bedroom.

That's good the hear that your little buddy is getting better, but $7000 is insane.

I couldn't believe the cost either but the vet is confident even with her Addisons Disease, that Lolly should lead a healthy life with one kidney. she will be 7yrs old next month.


my hubby donated a kidney to his brother, so she will be like 'daddy'

7 Grand!?

Shit! Do you have pet insurance? Vet bills are always so damn expensive it cost like $800 just to have a tooth removed for our family dog.

I'm sure all will go well with little Lolly though!
 
About 2 weeks ago Milo my cat got into a fight with the bully cat next door and he got this lump on his back that swelled up and popped and Milo had this hole on his back, took him to the vet and he got a shot of anti-biotic that cost $125. So if one shot costs that much it does make sense that a full on pet operation would cost something like $7000.
