Back in like the 50's I'm pretty sure women were not allowed in the pubs? I remember a scene from A Place To Call Home, where the main character, a women was told she was not allowed in the public bar. Crazy crazy times back then.

well in the early 80's my boss took me to the Melbourne Cricket Ground where he was a member ... and in the member's restaurant there was a line of tape - across which women were apparently not allowed to cross. Not sure when that changed ...
