Heidi Anderson: I’m a faddist, are you?

EVERY girl I meet at the moment is on a health kick. Me included.

Every winter our healthy eating starts, our personal trainer gets a phone call and our gym membership gets a work out because we’re all worrying about the winter overcoat.

Let’s be honest though, how long does the health kick actually last?

For me it’s only the first few days, and then I’m over it and convince myself I’ll start again next Monday.

My weekends are filled with no guilt and a blowout of red wine, hamburgers and chocolate.

But on Sunday afternoon I’ll sit on the couch counting all the calories I’ve consumed and prep myself for Monday morning’s health kick.

Heidi Anderson, breakfast presenter for Perth's 92.9 FM.

This happens most weekends and I’m 100 per cent positive I’m not alone here.

If you could only be a fly on the wall at our office in Subiaco on a Monday you could witness first-hand what us girls put ourselves through to try and loose a few kilos.

Name a diet, fad or health kick and we’re doing it.

Cleanse shakes, the 5 and 2, Michelle Bridges, Lite ‘n’ Easy, Jenny Craig, Body Trim, clean eating … the list goes on.

I even overheard a girl telling another that she was trying the “flat tummy diet”.

Yep there is a fad called that and people are doing it.

I remember thinking years ago that I would never turn into a faddist.

Am I ashamed to admit it? Yes, and no.

I’m not ashamed to tell you I love a fad, but I am ashamed to tell you that I haven’t succeeded.

Last year I lost 12 kilos doing Michelle Bridges and training my butt off.

When I tell people this they scream “congratulations, that’s awesome!”

And I quietly remind myself I still have another 10 kilos to go.

I’m disappointed in myself that one year after I said I would lose 20 kilos I still haven’t done it.

First summer got in the way and then there was the new job which I moved across the country for and then there was my boyfriend.

Life just got in the way. Not in a bad way though.

To be honest with you, I haven’t cared about this next 10 kilos until now because life has been so good.

For the last year of my life I’ve been on this wild roller coaster ride with many highs and lows. But now it’s winter, the faddist in me has kicked in and I’m ready to shed the overcoat.

So this week I’m doing an eating plan my trainer Dave has written for me.

Nothing fancy it’s just clean eating. To be honest with you I HAVE lasted longer than three to four days on this one. I am at my best when my boyfriend is away for work.

When he is home for two weeks from his FIFO swing we eat out at restaurants, we go to parties, we drink red wine most nights and worst of all, he has a sweet tooth so after every meal he has to eat either chocolate, lollies or ice cream.

He’s tall, lean and handsome as well so he doesn’t have to watch the waistline — the jerk!

Actually now I’m writing this, I think there is only one problem here and that’s him.

Although I guess that’s a bit harsh and I’m to blame too.

I need to find consistency and balance in my life and stop these different fads that I start every Monday. I probably also need to stop the excuses and stop blaming my boyfriend.

Who is with me? Who promises from now on, we’ll stop with the fads and start with the clean lifestyle?

We’ll stop drinking so much red wine midweek and we’ll stop with the sweet stuff after meals? Who promises to get training at least four times a week?

Ladies and gents this is it, it’s in writing now.

No more excuses, let’s shed this winter overcoat and lets start this together.

No more fads and no more diets. I’m looking for balance and consistency, who is with me?

His style's gone to the dogs! Tim Dormer wears French Bulldog top identical to his own pet's face as he lets his pooch drink out of his cup at restaurant table

The saying goes that a dog is a man's best friend, and Tim Dormer has left no doubt on how he feels about his own pet pooch.

The Big Brother winner was seen walking his French Bulldog Meatloaf with a friend in Sydney on Thursday, and he wore his love for the animal with pride - literally.

The big-haired reality star's Adidas jumper featured the large face of a dog on the front that shared a striking similarity to his own canine companion.

Man's best friend: Tim Dormer couldn't hide his love for his French Bull Dog, Meatloaf when he stepped out wearing a top bearing a face almost identical to his pet in Sydney on Thursday

Tim told the Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday night that Meatloaf is, ironically, a vegetarian - his little stomach just can't handle meat and he only eats fish and vegetables.

Tim and is fellow long-haired friend made their way to a cafe where they ordered coffee - which was no doubt a welcome treat after the pair appeared to enjoy a rowdy evening the night before.

The 30-year-old larrikin posted a photo on his Instagram account that showed him riding on a shopping trolley while his friend pushed him along.

Spoiled much? The Big Brother 2013 winner treated his pet like a human, offering him a drink of water from a cup and giving him a kiss on the face

Tim hinted that he was having a wild night, explaining the outrageous shot: 'The boys are out in Bondi!'

As the media personality and his mate settled in at the cafe, Tim couldn't help but pick up his beloved pet and give him a kiss on the face, and even offered the animal a sip from a cup of water.

The former housemate caused a stir this week when he told Daily Mail Australia that he would date his fellow Big Brother 2013 co-star Jade Albany - except 'she's only interested in footballers.'

Thirsty little guy? The 30-year-old larrikin was careful to make sure little Meatloaf didn't get dehydrated

He said that the blonde was currently dating a footballer but wouldn’t say who he was.

Despite his feelings for Jade, single Tim is happy to remain her friend and recently helped move into her new Coogee home.

Tim was also recently seen getting a drink with former Hot30 Countdown Presenter Mel Greig in Sydney.

A rep for Tim confirmed to the Daily Mail Australia that he and Mel are now under the same management and are 'working on a project together.'

This was in the OK magazine this morning.

Omg I love it. Great pictures. I am doing my best to ignore all the snarky crappy comments in here. Seems some of you are quite annoyed at the attention Tim is getting. You don't have to read it you know. Stop raining on my parade, and I don't rain on yours and its boring as hell. Ooops, ok just a lil rain.
