Not offensive - Just different. Like comparing an AFL player to a Soccer player, or Netball to Basketball, so to speak - different rules, different game. just different.
No SA teams in Rugby 15s, so I suppose that is why is is classed as same thing ....

Fair enough. I've only ever been to one AFL game years ago so can't really comment on any overlap. All I know is football football is seriously undervalued in this country.

it is the Rugby World Cup. there hasn't really been much bad press with union now i think of it

i have watched a few on TV but it is so much better and faster watching a game in real life. AFL players do have a lot of skill

I do not think there is much overlap - if a Soccer Player played like an AFL Player, they would NOT be playing for very long.
No Offside in AFL, the field is your oyster ..... no comparison ....
Anyway, I am no expert on all of these games, just know a few basic rules and in AFL, well, they are different .........
It is like comparing Netball and Basketball

i feel left out because unlike the ads, i don't have a team, anymore :( :cry:

They are usually no neck, cauliflower ears type of players. Union is very International and is played at most Private Schools.

Sometimes, the really great League players switch to Union and visa versa but it is a very different game.

The Union guys do Scrums, (the smelling of bums I call it) where as in League, they took that out years ago, and only now again do it.

i have been involved with watching all 4 codes at some point, had to. afl is ok, league is ok, union is a lot of stop start with the scrums. soccer is my favourite to watch but only if it is fast and hard, and non theatrical, hate hate dives
