Possible house location?

BBAU started hiding all cameras, including the robo cameras, behind the mirrors starting on BB3 and it continued at least though the end of the 9 run. I hope they start doing this again for the next season. Not only does it make the house look tidier but hm’s are less aware of their presence.

I'd argue the concept of Big Brother it that housemates should be aware of the camera's presence. They forget about them within days anyway. I'd rather see the camera runs ditched.

TBH though nowadays you'd think they could ditch both the mirrors and the visible cameras and set up the house to be filmed with hidden cameras.

Just watched a new Dreamworld update on YouTube - The gold coaster is closed until September 13th, and the area has been taped off by Dreamworld.

The smoking area which used to be here has also been relocated near steel taipan. I imagine this is to reduce park pollution into the adjacent lot and to distance the public from it as much as possible.

I also noticed a new structure in the background, possibly a fence? Wall?

The building that used to house the laser tag has been fenced off the windows have been blacked out with a sign that says no entry. I’m wondering if this could possibly be the new control room/post production space given how close it is to the exhibition centre and the potential house location.

^ The other buildings in this precinct are also apparently disused and fenced off from the rest of the park. Again I imagine it’s to distance the public as much as possible from the lot.

I feel like that has to be our location, it’s all lining up with the timings of the job ads for set decorators as well. I’m predicting the shell of the house to be done mid-September so the gold coaster can reopen, utilities connections for a couple of weeks and then house fit out during October

So for those of us with zero clue, how does it relate to this map?

I assume they'd need the audience area to be near the carpark though. Can't have hundreds of randoms walking through the closed park at night, right?
The entrance to the exhibition centre is next to the gold coaster, where the taped off area is at the moment, it also has direct access to the car park via a gate with its own entry similar to the old auditorium.

You're probably right. I would've guessed by the old auditorium just due to the space and proximity to the park, but the more I'm seeing it seems more and more likely it's by white water world. I'm still interested to see how the mitigate park noise. I'm assuming they'd need to start playing "crowd noise" into the house during times like evictions and peak hours. Are the hm's going to have to listen to rollercoaster noise and screaming?

Hopefully someone on here is at Dreamworld coming up and can get a first hand view!

The roller coaster noise is going to be a lot more apparent at the old auditorium site. Steel Taipan is larger than the gold coaster is and also closer to the area. Dreamworld seem to be taking steps to distance the public from the bottom part of the park as much as possible to reduce noise.

Noise dampening walls have also come a long way from the 2000s, I live next to a major freeway and there’s little to no noise pollution after they installed dampening walls. It can be done.

It’s more the backyard and the noise. Even with it facing away from WWW, you’d still be able to hear it. If you think about it they could hear the auditorium from the yard at the old house and that was a lot further away and buffered by trees and scrub.

They heard dreamworld patrons screaming on rides and the mechanics of the tower of terror from the old house at dreamworld day in day out so I don’t think it’s much of an issue.

BBAU might be unique in being in a theme park though.
It's part of Dreamworld's key financial growth strategy for 2026. I went through their earnings call for FY25 mainly to see if they listed any expenditures for Big Brother or gave any clues to future development and found a couple of things.

Dreamworld CFO said something really interesting during the call:
"Guests will be able to see live glimpses of live filming in the house during their park visit"

Was just watching one of the season 4 episodes and you can hear sirens in the background. so, it was a small issue back then too.

One thing I'm wondering is how far is the nearest footpath and would it be in yelling distance; Park patrons might try and yell messages from the outside world over the walls.

But I'm sure all of this would've been thought about when they were planning the location of the house and they would've done as much as they can to limit outside noise.

Love the idea of part of the house being a huge two way mirror people can look in through. I think one of the Scandinavian versions which was based in a shopping centre planned something similar but not sure they followed through on it.

Brazil though have regularly done a "Glass House" twist usually featuring potential intruders in a public location where not only can they be seen but they can see out. I think that could work if they were doing a longer series with a separate structure elsewhere on Dreamworld to determine the intruders.

I think this is also a slight advantage of having the series so close to summer.

Dreamworld is about to see peak attendance, and already have a lot of season passes locked in for 2025-2026, it can only translate into viewers for the show if visitors are able to see the show in the flesh.

This is what I was more referring to. You would think that it wouldn't be the case but people could scream messages over the compound walls. Thats more what I was thinking and just the fact it would be MORE exposed to outside noise than in the past, thats all. Nerver said any house was its own bubble and they couldn't hear anything. Though I imagine its all being thought of.

I too agree that I love the idea of using the house as an attraction. Letting people go into a specially set up area that allows you to see them inside, that is a pretty cool drawcard.
