I’m sad it’s over but also relieved because now I can get some sleep in normal hours! Highlights for me are so many…the girls swim team, all the swim team really, road and track cycling, diving, Saya Sakakibara, both water polo teams, beach volleyballers, the crazy skateboarding kids (and the equally crazy commentators!) and oh so many more! SO proud to be an Aussie but also thoroughly appreciated all the efforts of all the athletes involved! Well done to all of them! IF I have to pick just one highlight though…it would have to be Jess and Noemie Fox and family…truly incredible people both in the water and out.

This reminds me of the McDonalds ad from a couple of Olympics ago, showing a weary family watching the Games all night on TV, only to find themselves hungry in the wee hours of the morning, so you can guess where they all made a beeline to for a fast food feed!Is it bad that I want to stay up all night and watch the games? I could sleep all day tomorrow but my hubby would probably be pissed off…hmmm decisions! On another note, I don’t understand how Richard Fox can commentate when his daughter is competing…when my sons were playing premier cricket I couldn’t even watch them play as I was far too nervous.

The way its going, Breakdancing is going to be a one games wonder, much like Polo was over one hundred years ago.The highlights were cringe enough for me. Not an Olympics sport, fuck it off!
