That's my impression as well. Anyone who chooses to live in flashy Bondi (one of Sydney's most EXPENSIVE suburbs) and then cries poor should move out to Bankstown, Blacktown or The Shire. I fail to see why he's in such desperate need.

He sounds lucky too, opportunities a plenty, pro-tennis how fabulous, radio ops fabulous, he had already studied some arty thing - nice if you can study a 2nd degree, lives in Bondi nice, with Tim nice.

Of course there was probably interaction between Jake and Tim.. The producers just decided not to include it in the show, which is a real shame.

Most pro tennis players outside of the top 50 actually struggle to make money from tennis. So, being a 'pro player' and ranked ~1000, he would have made less money than a part time job pays. But, having said that, it does seem that the housemates are unaware of his living arrangements.

Well duh. Nine forced Jake into the lie, which is also why Tim couldn't reveal it in the house and why it hasn't been acknowledged anywhere that Nine has control over.

He's paid to do something, maybe he does coach.

I remember Gemma was talking to Tim when he was in the house about her "strategy" and I swear I remember her saying something along the lines of "jake and I want to play strategically, but none of the others do." (In reference to the other housemates.) Perhaps it's part of his strategy to talk about his lack of money and hope it makes the voting public feel he deserves it more? Just brainstorming! I do feel he's probably crap house at budgeting haha
Well, Tim certainly knows Jake.
As if Alex M and co would be so honest and upfront.
