I think part of the problem is what they show in the house. It's like they show conflict, emotional meltdowns, bitching, people saying of doing weird stuff, the tasks and the attractive people doing attractive things. If they showed people having normal conversation I'm sure Mikkayla would standout from the crowd and the rare occasions they show Mikkayla having a good conversation with someone I think she does standout.

He talks more about her run in with Tahan, claiming the fiery Darwin girl still feels no guilt for mocking Mikkayla’s eating habits and body image.

“This is why she doesn’t have any female friends,” Mikkayla states.

I hate that MIKK is having to cope with all these kind of comments from Tahan (last night) and Sullky (from the Mexican dinner). I guess they feel that is the button they can push, but it seems wrong. People with hunched backs should not throw stones in a glass house.
 
i like Mikk but she claims she has body issues and in the next breath brags about how much she eats.
i doesnt make sense.

I have only seen her have that issue with the dress and feel bad about her body that night, since then its been others who have pointed out her weight and eating habits which I think is none of their business. In fact its plain nasty. She obviously would know she has put on weight in there as did Layla last year. Boredom and stress wouldnt help. No doubt its playing on her mind especially as others are constantly bringing it up. I say let her be!

Tim or Ben - they are Switzerland yet provide extreme entertainment.

Yes, I like her too. She's so smart and so confidant in herself. I love how she is a woman who LOVES food & isn't ashamed of it. I HATE how the skinny females & buffed males (while stuffing their own faces) take passive/aggressive swipes at Mikkayla about her eating/weight. All the other HM's are taller than Mikkayla. They can carry extra weight. Mikkayala is short (like me) and any extra weight is exaggerated on her short frame. They (especially Tim & Tully) talk as if she is obese, which she ISN'T! I much prefer Mikkayla over any of the other HM's (apart from Ben, he is a sweetie).

OMG, yes! Sullky (Tully) does have a hunched back. She stoops over all the time. And she is a beanpole, straight up & down. How dare she take a swipe at Mikkayla for eating too much.
 
Ok, this is a genuine question not meaning to be mean spirited but, what does Mikkayla do in the house to earn favor?

I ask this as i see quite a lot of support for her in the forums, twitter, facebook etc... yet when i see her on the show she may have an opinion every once in a while but mostly i just hear her loud voice. I get why people like Tim, Tully, Tahan, Drew, Jade and somewhat Ben as they do things actively, they create narrative in the house, i only see Mikkayla just ahead of the others like Ed, Matt and the sisters as they don't really contribute to much. Mikkayla i believe truly has a chance of winning the show and more of a threat to others than a Matt or Ben is, if she does though i would scratch my head as to why she's so popular.

Is she entertaining to people? Is it because she has support as a minority like Tahan and Ben? Is it because others are more disliked so she's liked by default?

Again, I'm not 'having a go' at her, it's just i feel I'm not seeing something that others are. Or then again I'm fine and others are just delusional :P

I guess its a matter of personal opinion on what makes a good Housemate. I liked her from the moment she walked in and said to Tahan " You dont look like you eat carbs can I have yours " She has been entertaining in lots of ways to me. I think of the Spelling bee competition and how she was buzzed. It was so funny. Apart from that she has handled most things well. We arent given a lot of footage to go by but from what we see. I think shes great. Plus I like the fact that she annoys the others. Its not supposed to be The Brady Bunch. Its getting along with people who are different from your usual buddies.
I personally dont understand why Tully is being voted for or Tahan. How are they adding anything to the house? Of course I agree Matt and Ed are boring.
We all see differently, I would scratch my head and be surprised if Tully or Matt or Tahan won but everyone chooses who they like and thats their prerogative.
 
if all she does is annoy the bejesus out of Tahan then she's worth having in there.

i like the choice of housemates this year. some are definitely more 'entertaining' than others but they all add there own little thing to the house dynamic.

I don't know what it is but I never could warm up to her. Some of the things she does annoys me, but not enough to dislike her. I would love for her to be evicted soon. Ed first than her.

Thanks for the reply and the examples, i can actually see now how see could be liked based on her reactions to things. You're absolutely correct with the fact that everyone has different tastes (otherwise the world would be extremely boring) I'm not arguing that, I just couldn't see why she was popular as the examples you stated i didn't take much notice of, in fact i percieve her to be immature in many ways, but she deserves to be in the house more than those that make me shake my head and think 'why are you even here?' to people like Ed, Matt and the sisters. I actually have to give the Australian voters this year big credit as they have not been saving the boring Mr./Mrs. Nice Guy types. Usually they do, this year they haven't it hopefully shows intellectual and cultural progress :D... Jamie (my most hated winner) wouldn't stand a chance this year and i would've seen Mikkayla winning if she was in his series.
 
I was never a fan of Mikkayla in the beginning but each week I like her more and more. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because she's playful and doesn't tend to let too much get her down. She hasn't clung to anyone in the house (except for maybe the dog) and she speaks her mind. I'm still not a huge fan but she is growing on me and I hope she stays in the house for a little longer.

I adore mikkayla. She knows her flaws and knows why she is being nominated, but she still stays true to herself. Hoping she is the fake evicted hm
 
The only reason why I see them commenting on her food intake is because she complains about her weight a lot. What they show on the air isn't all that goes on - she probably mentions it even more than that. It's like Tully complaining about being negative all the time and then being who she is.

I liked her from the start. She was a feisty girl who wasn't afraid to show us what she thought good or bad. I liked it when she cried about her body image issues as it showed us vulnerability. I don't mind the giggle as it's infectious to me. I liked how well Mikkayla handled being in the half-way house and soon working out that Xavier was a snake. I then liked how she realised being an ally with Tim was a good thing when everyone else dismissed him. I also have loved all her diary room rants and how annoying all the HMs around her were. I've loved her love /hate relationship with Tahan. I think they're closer than we'll ever know. I've enjoyed listening to how well she articulates during nomination. I've enjoyed her taking care of Mr Clooney even though we don't get shown much of it. I love how strong she's been when she was saved and saved and the HMs turned on her, including her winning showdown.

Yes she has faults but I think she gives a lot more to the house than just about all of them, except Tim.

Holy shit. I was already disappointed that she wasn't the most saved housemate, but she had the SECOND LEAST!?

Crazy. She'll 100% be nominated tomorrow, people better get voting. Please, don't get complacent.

Anyone notice how Tully was laughing when Mikkayla was the only one left with Ben for eviction?
