...that's one show that I can never imagine watching Fuzz... it's bad enough with those precocious brats on 'Spelling Bee' let alone 'Junior Masterchef.'.. I just couldn't... it would do my head in lol!... by the way... has ANYONE ever watched 'Junior Masterchef'?... cheers.

I know, I wonder how many professional chefs would ever cook something like this in their entire career.
...it was fun thanks peoples... but I'm dreading tomorrow nights show... Matt is in lots of trouble methinks... let's hope that he does well... cheers.

Agreed Mr S. I actually have a bit of a problem with the concept of exposing kids to that kind of stuff. I understand that it is a bit more even handed and "lighter" in the criticism but it still must be tough for kids to be eliminated after being built up and given encouragement. Apart from the exposure on TV ,which would be parent-driven, Im not sure exactly what the kids gain out of it.
Having said all that, give me a show called "Masterchef Moms" which would basically entail flag waving overbearing mothers screeching at their kids for a half-arsed attempt at a parfait and I will watch.
I have no problem with consenting adults making fools out of themselves.
And the kids get to exact some revenge by watching their parents make fools out of themselves.

To me, Matt sounded like he had a cold when he was talking so maybe he was unwell. He didn't seem his usual enthusiastic self and it was like his heart wasn't in it at all. I hope he can pull off a safe cook tonight, even though it's not his forte. I am convinced Matt is doomed and that Harry has this in the bag but Elise is on the Teflon Express (truly hope she doesn't win) and I do think Elena is very, very good (don't mind if she wins if Matt can't).
I watched one season of Junior Masterchef and it wasn't too bad but I don't think I'd bother again. There were actually some very talented kids but it was obvious many of them had been to some training classes and had wealthy enough parents to indulge their cooking experiments (many of them were deft at cooking with very expensive ingredients so they'd had practice at it.) I'd have loved to allow my kids to potter away with recipes for Scampi or Truffle but, alas, the budget for my kids cooking forays was packet cake mixes from Coles usually and maybe a splurge on a steak or prawns sometimes LOL :/
