Last movie you saw

It's directed by the guy who made Spiderman... and Evil Dead.
It IS quite scary, but it's not a Saw or Friday the 13th gory movie.
Most of the scary bits get a good dose of humour to take the edge off.

Eagle Eye

Was quite enjoyable, lots of chases and unfortunately the momentum of the first act didn't stick the whole way through but it was still quite entertaining. So yeah enjoyable action, chase movie, with a little bit of sci-fi thrown in. It's all so highly improbably and unrealistic, but ah it's not to be picked apart.

But did you screan GLADos out when the big ball on the swing arm type compouter was revealed? I thought they did a good job of repping off the game Portal, if only by appearance.

Having said that I like Eagle eye and I think I've commented on that before and gave it a 6/10

I was in mindless mood last night and watched:
Journey To The Centre Of The Earth

which starred Brendan Fraser. The movie was quite fun.. However if you buy this like me and you can find it dirt cheap iin some places don't feel bad it's a fun movie and worth the purchase. However do not watch disk 2.. That has the film in 3D but the glasses they give you with the DVD, and you get 4 pairs in the box, will give you a serious headache after the first 15 minutes. 3D is very hard to do at the best of times but should never be done to a DVD..

Oh another 6/10

Wuthering Heights - a 2009 tv movie that my friend the internet gave me.

I've never read the book because I only like happy endings and as we all know (who read the classics) this is not. So it was with trepidation I watched it. I loved it, I really did. The acting was excellent. Tears fell out of my eyes when Cathy died, Heathcliff did a very bad thing letting his nastiness and his vendetta overtake his love for her. What a bloody tragedy! It wil be interesting to hear of others who have read the book and who have watched a movie version of it and what they think of this version.

I read on IMDB that a movie is being made of this for the big screen and to be released in 2010. I wonder how it will compare.

I've never heard of Tom Hardy (who plays Heathcliff) so I read up and he has just been in a tv mini series called "The Take" so my friend is in the processing of getting it for me.

Coraline. I LOVED it! It would be pretty scary for really young kids though.

Also watched Human Traffic again. Been a few years since I watched it, it's still bloody funny!

Awesome, i really want to see Coraline but was afraid it might be crap..

anyway its been done here before but i saw 'Role Models' recently and agree it was hillarious..i havent laughed that hard in aaaages

Ah it's a great book, to be sure. Wouldn't mind seeing any film adaptation of it. And we all know there's only one song that does the story justice.

I just saw Little Miss Sunshine for the first time. It was, er, interesting. Nothing I could really get my fangs into, but there were some humorous moments. Steve Carell makes me smile.

I went to see Drag Me To Hell today.

I was a bit disappointed in it really, mainly because I was under the impression that it was a horror and not a horror-comedy. But, I still enjoyed it. It was very "b-grade" and I believe that it was intentionally made to be like that.. at least, I hope it was.

It did remind me of portal.

I don't like rating movies it's too hard but i would probably give it a 6.5 or 7 for entertainment value.

Observe and Report

Pretty darn hilarious. Definitely not a comedy for everyone, it's not as dark as i was expecting but yeah lots of laughs. I was quite impressed with how it took a different turn than I was expecting and i love the fact the main character is a total jerk. There is something refressing with these sort of characters. Of course Jody Hill who did the show is quite good at these. With the Foot Fist Way and the hilarious hbo comedy, "Eastbound and Down." I do feel this film was written for the star of thise, Danny McBride, but Seth Rogan did the job really well.
For those unaware what it's about, Seth Rogan is a bi-polar head of mall security in a small shopping centre. When a pervery starts flashing people in the parking lot, it's the big case he was looking for which sends him into wanting to become a real police officer. I haven't seen Pall Blart Mall Cop, but it's safe to say it's nothing like this. The character is literally insane haha...

I was laughing out loud hysterically at many parts through it, but yeah.. it's not for everyone.

How did you score a copy as a freebie?

came with my blu-ray player along with swat and hitch. Hitch.. now there's a movie you need to see in blu-ray!

ya think? i didnt like it at all - and i LOVE seth rogan.

It's definitely a style of comedy that's not for everyone. I did genuinely find it hilarious and better than most comedy rubbish coming out these days.

Oooh why's that?

Oooh why's that?

Why it came with the blu-ray player?
I think dick smith power house was just doing that to encourage people to get the more expensive sony model, which is what i was getting anyway.

for peoples information blu-ray you really need big high end viewing equipment for the benefit, but 40bucks a disc is a rip off. At least now some are starting to get marked down to 20, 30.

I saw an ad for a new movie called 'orphan' tonight, and it looks spooky as all buggery!
