Katie: "He's on his Poofy little scooter"

I have seen a Gay dude annihilate a straight guy in a fight.
Yeah I get your point now.

Like I said, maybe "poofie" has evolved from a gay hating/degrading word for gay men to un-manliness and effeminacy in general term? I don't know...

Though yes, "poofter" still means "faggot" to me (i.e. anti-gay).
Kids are taught by each other to hate gays in school = Fact.
How do I know? I have seen it and experienced it first hand. Society is fucked! No doubt it most likely starts at home but it quickly spreads like cancer into schools and outside social places also.

The way I see it, if there are people who find it offensive because of the suffering they received because of it, then it is them that should be heard and them that decides whether the word is ok. There are many who don't accept that word and therefore to me that is enough of a reason that others shouldn't too.

Yep. Very disgusting...

I have annihilated a couple of straight dudes too in high school (assuming they were... haha).

I'm a "masculine acting" gay. I didn't have it bad in school in terms of 'gay bullying' - Oh, I hate that I have to say I'm "masculine acting" but it's just that people would automatically think that you're feminine acting just because you're gay...:meh:

I have seen my fair share of straight guys biting off more than they can chew lol. Do what you will with that one haha.

:D :D :D

I guess the key here is that if the term causes offence, don't use it. One might have the most innocent intent, but if it hurts others, it's not worth it. No need to argue with someone about whether they should be offended or not. The point is that they / we are. And we should all care about that. So we just should stop using the word. The essence of respect.

THIS!

I don't know about the term and if it causes offense or anything.. but that whole ordeal was just cringeworthy and seemed like these nobodies were just desperate to show everyone that they had 'paparazzi'.

Same issues in the news today:

http://www.theguardian.com/australi...nies-his-economic-girlie-man-insult-is-sexist

All you people defending Katie sound just as confusing as the finance minister:

“I don’t think there’s anything gender-specific here. Not girls, girlies; it’s very different. I hope you are not going to say I am a sexist misogynist.’’

Ahuh.

I am shocked by the article. Is there any line they won't cross? It is appalling.

I don't know why you still have to defend the P word being an insult. I just don't understand some people at all. There is a real lack of identifying with others. (sigh) I despair sometimes

And it wasn't a paparazzi, just someone on a bike. They should have been glad someone even looked in their directions. A few weeks on BB doesn't make them celebrities, but their reactions for sure make them look like idiots

I'm gay and don't really take it personally .... If anything it just shows how dumb Katie is!
I'm more annoyed by the fact that they think paparazzi is following them. You fucking wish!
