So I may be a little bit excited about the new James Bond movie: Spectre.
Here is the trailer and...
The newest trailer :D

I wanna reach out to other fans of the series, INCLUDING people who have read the books. I have had the pleasure of reading Casino Royale and am in the Process of reading Diamonds are Forever. They are very well written in that sort of swanky oldey timey literature style which frankly is amazing. What is YOUR opinion on James Bond?

I have watched nearly all the movies except for 'Quantum of Solace'. I haven't read any of the books though. My favorite Bond movie is 'From Russia With Love' closely followed by 'License to Kill'.

Awesome! I don't really think you're missing much with Quantum of Solace. I felt it strayed from the true Bond style. Your choices are awesome movies, really well done, both Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton Classics!

"Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?"
-Casino Royale, Chapter 7

James Bond has great taste and you can follow suit with the original Vesper Martini.
Every James Bond fan will recognize the lines in the recipe below as the first martini James Bond ordered in Casino Royale.

The Kina Lillet Bond speaks of can be found today labeled as White or Blanc Lillet. It's a brand of dry vermouth made in France since the late 1800's that is often referred to as "the apèritif of Bordeaux". Bond's glassware of choice for the Vesper is a deep Champagne goblet.

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 measures of Gordon's Gin
  • 1 measure of vodka
  • 1/2 measure Kina Lillet
  • Lemon peel for garnish

But can this replace the wine?

...Sean Connery then Pierce Brosnan and then Roger Moore were my three faves in that order... Oddjob then Jaws and then Blofeld as my fave three villains in that order... Ursula Andress (Honey Ryder) then Jane Seymour(Solitaire) and then Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore) were my top three Bond girls in that order...

...have seen all of the Bond movies but have read none of the books unfortunately... I have always loved the earliest Bond movies from the 60's the best... they were the best for me because they just seemed more spectacular with all the new gadgets that we take for granted now... back then there was nothing like mobile phones and the gadgetry that we now all have at our fingertips... back then it was the big 'wow!' factor which was what people only dreamt about...

...it was like the early 'Man from U.N.C.L.E' series which was a direct steal from the early Bond movies... all of their gadgets were such futuristic things that we could only dream of... brilliant stuff that was so ahead of it's time... aaaaah!... those were the days!...cheers.

I have this theory, although it has been debunked too many times that I care to remember, I still hold to it, that the first bind you see is your favourite. So for me, Pierce Brosnan IS Bond. Goldeneye and Die Another Day are my favourites. I'm sure they would come across very daggy if released today, but I can't help it.

I'm so fucking pissed off at Nine, they said they were goingnto show Dr No at 10, they're still showing the fucking nrl... uhhh, #FirstWorldProblems

...I'm not too sure if too many people realise that Sean Connery was not the first ever James Bond... on this website below...

...they tell you about an American actor named Barry Nelson that played Bond in a made-for-TV version of 'Casino Royale' in a tele play for American TV... it even has Peter Lorre in it lol!... it was made in 1954 believe it or not... here is the actual episode...

...it's quite less polished that the later movies but it is well worth a look... on that link above they tell you about David Niven playing Bond in a spoof movie and even Roger Moore playing Bond in a show many years before he actually played him in the movie franchise lol!... it's quite an interesting read... cheers.

...tell me about it... we went away for the weekend and I set my player to record it and was so looking forward to watching it when I got home last night!... as I said before... the early Bond movies are my favourites so it really pissed me off when it wasn't there when I got back... bastards!... cheers.

Oh yeah I had heard about that, its pretty interesting how it is mostly forgotten by today's audiences, he was the original Bond. I'll have to watch that later :D

Those bastards, HOW DARE THEY!!

Channel Nine are the worst

...to quote myself from the 'Doctor Who' thread where I posted this by mistake due to a rather big 'senior moment' a few minutes ago... I've decided to repost it where it should have gone lol!... I stumbled upon this while tinkering around on YouTube... I found it to be quite amusing and pretty well made... its a version of' 'Gangnam Style' by Psy... it's a James Bond Parody... what do you think?... cheers.
