Jade: "I don't know, I'd have to get to know him"

When Tim asked Jade when they were wrapping presents for the task if she would still love Ed if he was hideously ugly, she replied "I don't know, I would have to get to know him". This clearly shows the lack of depth to Jade and Ed's relationship - she doesn't know who he is, but is happy to be with him based on his good looks.
 
And yet no doubt she remains completely clueless to how fucked up her response was. It's some freaky coincidence that they make JadEd cause by god it's appropriate.
 
Ha! You picked that too. Interesting yes? She doesn't know him, he's got a wall up and hasn't let her in, he doesn't know her either-it's a fauxmance, so fake it's palpable. We all knew that but it's interesting to see her slip and allude to the idea she does too. Maybe she isn't as gullible as I thought.
 
I thought that was weird too. I thought she knew him well, since she said I love you. Or thought she knew him well. But I guess not. How will Jade fans defend this one?
 
To be honest I thought her comment was a bit weird. If she loves him shouldn't she have said yes without even thinking about it!?
 
She could equally have meant that when she first met Ed and if he was plain or ugly..... then she would have to base her opinion on him by getting to know him.

That's how Tim meant the question and how it was answered so I don't see the drama * shrug *
 
I thought it was a weird comment because right after it Tim said that Ed had nothing but his looks but Jade said "That's not true!" So why did she say that first comment if she thought there was more to him? To be honest I think she was feeling frazzled (like she told Ed) and just said random words.
 
I do think she mainly liked Ed for his looks, and is completely blind sighted by them when it comes to his personality. I just wish she had more respect for herself because she does deserve someone who will compliment her and loves her back. It's just sad.

Hey yeah, the L word, forgot about that. Generally if you love someone you don't care how they look (look what 20 years of marriage/committed relationship does to the looks). Love usually refers to the whole person. Either she's a much sillier girl even than I thought or much, no, can't bring myself to type smarter, maybe much sneakier than I thought, hmmm.
 
Ah yes... she's so caught up in his looks...
She needs to stop being so insecure and start standing up for herself.
At the moment she comes across as shallow and insecure.

And her knowledge of his reputation and financial stability. She did comment on that once when comparing Ed to Drew--a lowly student. For many women money and power can be as much as an aphrodisiac as looks are for men.
 
Ed is her ideal type in terms of physical appearance - good looks and great bod.. wow! She sees Ed as her King of Hearts, her Jack of Diamonds.. unfortunately, she's just one of Ed's deck of cards...

Jade would have to get to know him before she could like this "ugly" version of Ed, just like she had to hang around him to get to know the real version of Ed. There's a million threads out there all discussing things like this -.- continue the hating

M aybe Ed is just one of Jade's deck of cards. She's no dumb blonde. All the romances always get good coverage on BB, so by "being in love" with Ed is her game plan. Noticed how quick she latched on to Ed after Matt left? Take one good looking girl and one good looking bloke, "be in love" (notice Ed has'nt said the L word back?) and great t.v. People will want to watch them whether or not they end up together after the show.
 
I know - if Jade doesn't know Ed by now then sadly there's no hope for the two of them. They have been in each others back pockets for months now and Jade says this in today's episode? Very sad.
