It's a joke Brent and an Australian of Indian origin is what she is, that's nothing to be ashamed of.

If you think me pointing out in a tongue-in-cheek post was an insult that you're the one with the problem not me.
There ya go again! Hahaha

Just thought I had to have a balanced opinion on Priya as @MADONNA keeps starting new Priya threads that can easily be put into her appreciated thread.

So is Priya over-rated this year? who is to blame?[/QUOT

I think Priya overrates herself for a start.

Honestly, all these Priya 'qualities' smack of insincere. Gemma's eviction moment, while sweet, was definitely a strategic move. She knew it would show her in a good light. Her 'comforting' housemates often seems an empty gesture; her words are so hollow because she says the most basic, cookie-cutter phrases that have no sincerity or depth. I find her guarded and unimpressive. Going to the diary room and airing your observations of the housemates is pretty pointless when your interactions with them are so uninspiring.

She's also two-faced, and a liar and I can't stand that (exhibit A: Aisha's $20,000 power play). If she came straight out and said she didn't give a phuck and was playing the game, then I'd have more respect for her. But she tries to also act like she is a sincere person, and that's just hypocritical.

I never got the Priya fuss. I feel like she is contributing nil to the house.
Well said Incognito.

Going where? I'm simply taking issue with someone insinuating I'm 'bigoted' when I was simply being facetious and poking fun at her and her fans. Am I not allowed to defend myself from such a silly ridiculous accusation?
It's always the readers fault with you.

It's the attitude in the responses. Doesn't matter. I like Con, I really do. 99% of the time I enjoy reading your posts.

Well people usually people don't take too kindly when someone totally misconstrues an innocent joke and implies that there was something more sinister to a fairly innocuous comment.

I've seen that you've reacted similarly (defensively) when other posters have done the same to you but I think you're totally within your rights to explain yourself, don't see that as displaying 'attitude' at all. *shrugs*

In my defense Priya has being quite happy in emphasizing/promoting her Indian background herself and her fans have made used of her ethnicity and played on that aspect of her character in their support of her as well. :angelic:

What I (try) not to do is retort with "you read me wrong, that means the issue is with you."

However I might just be (unfairly) placing expectation or standards on you which you simply don't hold. So I apologise.

Yes, way over rated.

There is more Priya going on outside the house that the stuff we see on TV.

All this prisus like she's some angel sent down from above is way over the top. She just isn't on that level. I feel that at least for some who say they're into her it's just to be part of the prisus cult, and so they can help continue the imagery.

You can read 'racism' into any comment if you look hard enough, I suppose. *shrugs*

Priya is of Indian heritage, there's a religious bent/element to the support she receives from her fans (i.e. Prizus a portmanteau of Jesus) hence why I mentioned her ethnicity since religion/background are very closely linked (Indian/Hinduism/Buddhish/etc..) in India (atheists probably make up 0.00001% of the population in India) making her an Indian deity (and a fraud at that :p) not a Jewish one. lol

That said had Priya been an Aussie born in Sweden I would've called her a naughty Swedish girl, there was no ill intent in pointing out her background, it's just part of who she is.

It's news to me that simply pointing out someone's background is in and of itself 'bigoted', first I've heard of it particularly when there was no malice insinuated. :angelic:

This quote from a poster in another forum sums up nicely my feelings about Prizus:

Amen!

In other word Prizus is not the Messiah, she's another one of those very naughty Indian girls with delusions of grandeur. *tut tut* :pompus:

I didn't get it at first, but am I right in guessing that this is a reference to Monty Python's Life Of Brian?

"He's not the Messiah, he's just a very naughty boy!"

One of my favourite lines from arguably the funniest movie ever made.

And a very apt quote.

That's the one! I ad libbed just for good measure.

And I included Priya's ethnicity to emphasize that we were dealing with a false prophet masquerading as the genuine article, it was not meant to be derogatory in some way that escapes me. ;)

Sure sis xo

Not Priyanka having to fight racism AND sexism.

An uphill battle for the true winner of BB. What kind of MARTYR.

She is that unhappy medium of being both manipulative whilst not being very good at it. She's as transparent as a sheet of glad wrap. Whilst I acknowledge the truth in an earlier post "the best of a bad bunch", thats akin to being the prisoner in maximum security with the fewest convictions.
I won't cry if she wins - she's more deserving than Reggie, Trevor, Jamie or Terri for example. But I won't help propagate the myth shes some sort of deity. She's a female version of Jason.
