I promise you when you have a genuine fear of heights all rational thoughts are gone from your brain. You can't control it is just the way it is.

I first found out I had this when I walked up the stairs of the Eiffel Tower. Just the first bit from ground to the first level. I totally froze gripped the rails could not go up or down. It was horrendous. Of course I know the Eiffel Tower is not going to fall but your brain convinces you otherwise.

It is truly frightening and out of my control.
