Episode I'm A Celebrity! AU (2016) - Episode Discussion

I really do get quite frustrated watching the camps reaction towards anything to do with laurina. She feels like they don't get behind her and really they don't. But her comment saying she didn't get a warm reception really made me feel upset for her because it as beyond being unsupportive and it's like she is so used to it or become normalised to it, that she doesn't think it is as bad. It's really awful. I would not be upset if she won. Because she has been challenged more than the others IMO because she did not have the support network the others had with one another. Go laurina
I know right!...it looks like Val and Anthony are both a little bit jealous of the fact that Laurina had a 'World Record' sash and a bouquet of flowers when she returned to camp... Anthony even made fun of it in the 'Diary Room'... what a woeful pair of sour bitches they are!... cheers.
I think it's because the tasks have given her power to be a possible winner and they are dying inside that it's possible she could kick their behinds. They might think they have celebrity status, but on a reality level, they are not necessarily preferred
I personally think the chief is smart to have cruised as far as he has. That's what being a good person will do. People will want to help you out because they genuinely think you are deserving of it. Maybe some of them could learn a thing or two.[DOUBLEPOST=1457057689][/DOUBLEPOST]Jo Beth has a great body.
I just think she's made herself unpopular from the get go by sitting back and letting others do the lions share of the work ... by talking endlessly about her only claim to fame (being on The Bachelor) or by chiming into conversations with nonsense and unsubstantiated facts ...I really do get quite frustrated watching the camps reaction towards anything to do with laurina. she's annoying - but I think that's part of her game - pushing people's buttons so that they come across negatively and she looks like she came out on top ... from memory she tried a bit of that during her time in The Bachelor with other girls (I remember Sam Frost stood up to her over some issue or another - might have been that she would go walk into other girls' solo time with Bachie and Sam was sticking up for some of the quieter ones who found it very hard to get any time and when they did Laurina would be interrupting it ...or something like that anyway ) ... and then when she got the hint that the Bachelor wasn't all that into her she was very quick to make it know she was suddenly not interested ...
still think she's self-centred and self-serving ... she's not a team player and that's why the others are sick and tired of her ... they know what she's up do, they see through it and find her exasperating to live with
I see things quite differently, maybe because I have not seen her on bachelor so I do not have a pre conceived idea of her, I do not know, but I felt from the get go they sneered at her as some sort of celebrity because she is not the celebrity they approve of. From when they first were introduced to us I remember jo Beth saying oh I remember her from the bachelor as that dirty street pie girl and following it with I don't know why I know that as if it was beneath her and from there I believe she thought laurina not worthy enough to be there.I just think she's made herself unpopular from the get go by sitting back and letting others do the lions share of the work ... by talking endlessly about her only claim to fame (being on The Bachelor) or by chiming into conversations with nonsense and unsubstantiated facts ...

But even in your description of why she doesn't fit in, she is still a human being in the end and the blatant disrespect of her and disregard for anything she contributes is not right, no matter if she has pushed buttons. She has proved jungle wise she has earned her place there as any of them and deserves recognition even if they don't like her. There is no possible excuse anyone could give me as to how rude some of them have been or why they look down on her. None

...I feel the same Sweetgeek...when they were all gnawing away like a pack of rabid hyenas tearing a carcass apart when eating that KFC that LAURINA WON FOR THEM not one of them bothered to thank Laurina for it in between all of their snortles grunts and burps... they were totally fucking rude!... doing any task that involves being under water is always fraught with danger regardless of whatever safety precautions are put in place... were any of them grateful for her putting herself through that so that they could gorge themselves like pigs?... no!... that really did singe my gristles because of their thankless manners... actually... it made me sick in the guts and I was so pissed off with everyone... including Paul that had more KFC than all of them... Laurina better win this... she so deserves it in my opinion... I've had it with the rest of them... the ungrateful bastards!... rant over!...
Woo! What a rant! That kfc dinner was the final straw for me too. Even when she was reading, they tried to ignore her. I hope they all watch these episodes and take a good hard look at themselves. But let's face it, they are going to babble about editing aren't they? I just know it
I think Laurina has been very entertaining in a number of ways. I quite like her but I assume she must be mega annoying to be around 24/7. The whole camp kid of bags her out so there is probably something in it.
I think Val should go this week. Huge effort from her but I am just enjoying the interactions and surprising friendships that the others have formed in the camp.
I think in the end the winner will come from the boys, probably Fev he seems to actually like it in there lol.
Started a bit slow but not a bad season.

Laurina and Fev have been the biggest and most entertaining characters imo. Although, compared to Maureen, Freddy and Big Merv from last year, not all that spectacular.
So funny watching the 'professional' entertainers sticking it to Laurina for being a Claytons celeb. She's provided more entertainment (and food) than most.
As for Warnie...a bit dissappointing really. Sizeable ego more than personality, but his Daily Fails have added another dimension.

I think if they all saw what each challenge was like, regardless of who was in it, they'd be a bit taken aback at the stress levels they've gone through. I know that in the Bachelor she wasn't the best and fairest, but in the jungle it's a different ball game and button pushing aside (her guide to survival?), she's done a good job. They all have in fairness, but she's been penalised, for want of a better word, from the off.Woo! What a rant! You have me hot and bothered there mr slol

...I agree that she did make herself unpopular at the beginning but that happened in the first few early days of the show but she has redeemed herself since then 10 times over as far as I'm concerned crimmy... granted she does say things to annoy the hell out of people but I see that as her thinking stuffem' all... they won't let me be part of them so I'll annoy the shit out of them... good on her for doing that!... I certainly would if I was in that situation... it may be childish to do so but at least it would be some sort of self satisfaction because of the way that they are treating her...
...she has become even more self-centred and self-serving because of the way that they are treating her in my eyes... if you can't join them... beat them!... as with Sweetgeek... I never saw her in that show either so I had no pre-conceived idea of what she is like too when she entered the show so I'm basing all of my opinions solely on what I've seen in this show... she deserves to be treated just as well as everyone else in that camp... what they are doing to her is appalling... she deserves way better... they won't allow her to be a team player because they don't consider her to be part of their 'clique'... to them she is an intruder into the camp because she's not a 'true celebrity' as they all are supposed to be

...I love the fact that Laurina has risen above all of that... they are totally over her because she's beating them at their own game lol!... go Laurina!... win this!... cheers.

haha - I was about to point out that we get shown only some of what goes on ... so we don't really know if they did / didn't thank her and it wasn't shown
what got me with the KFC was I thought there'd be enough for however many stars she earned ... and that that would be one piece of chicken each (Havana wouldn't eat it) ... but then the Chief went back for a second piece - did they all get 2 pieces or did he get to eat someone else's?
I'd have liked to see them arguing over 1 piece each and who would get the bigger pieces ... bit like dividing up the bill at the end of the night ... a total shitstorm!! (I absolutely abhor the whole split the bill thing at the end of a nice night out because there's always that one person/couple who will quibble about someone having that extra piece of garlic bread etc etc ... for me thats enough to rethink the friendship! lol)

On that score, tonight I'm going out with the girls and we always order about the same stuff price range and then split the bill 3 ways. Someone always pays slightly more by a couple of dollars but another night they will end up on the cheaper side. Works out evenly over time and as I don't drink alcohol when I'm with them it's fairer.haha - I was about to point out that we get shown only some of what goes on ... so we don't really know if they did / didn't thank her and it wasn't shown

I wasn't going to pre-judge Laurina based on the other show but I see similarities in some of her games...I agree that she did make herself unpopular at the beginning but that happened in the first few early days of the show but she has redeemed herself since then 10 times over as far as I'm concerned crimmy... granted she does say things to annoy the hell out of people but I see that as her thinking stuffem' all... they won't let me be part of them so I'll annoy the shit out of them... good on her for doing that!... I don't see the clique anymore - I think it used to be JoBeth, Anthony and Bonnie a bit ... I don't see Fev, Warnie and The Chief being part of the clique but rather just seeing this young woman who never shuts up, talks a load of bollocks (their perception anyway) and is generally an irritant ... and if they treat her with distain its because of that rather than any looking down at her - they're just not into flighty women who come across at times as having nothing between their ears and no OFF button ...
I think the "sliding scale of celebrity-ness" only got a mention early on because of how she was acting - ie allowing the others to do all the work whilst she lay on her bed, sunbaked etc ...
I think she's more than happy to be left on her own - I don't think she has any interest in building any lasting friendship with these people - other than perhaps Havana ... and that's perfectly understandable - they are not likely to mix in the same circles or be interested in the same things
She'd just irritate the crapola out of me with the yabbering on about herself and endless know-it-all-but-really-knowing/understanding-sweet-FA throw away statistics and facts that just have me rolling my eyes and thinking oh ffs stfu! lol
of course now because I don't like her that much she is bound to win ... good on her - she's played a clever game ... unfortunately that's what becomes of having people who've already been in one reality show cross over to another one ... they know the games to play ... takes the reality right out of the reality business
oh well - now I have to try to fit in some BBCAN catching up over the weekend

I don't mind splitting the bill - its the petty minded quibbling down to the last piece of bread that does my head in ... I'd like to think we all can round things up/down to get a rough idea of what our meal was worth and if there's more in the kitty well the waitress gets lucky with her tips

...hahaha!... yeah the good old 'bad editing' excuses will be coming out for sure lol!... so all the rest of the times that they were being nasty are just a by-product of 'bad editing' too?... just imagine what worse behaviour is not shown of them to save their reputations eh?... lol!... what's that called?... good editing?... they'll say that all what you saw was just their 'bad bits' shown for 'ratings' but secretly will be thanking god that someone had the sense not to show their worst behaviour... what haven't we seen?... if they were worried that they were going to be shown in a bad light then they should've been nice all the time!... the trouble is that they are all so simple as not to realise that the cameras are always running 24/7... cheers.
