Housemate #5 TULLY!

In many countries especially in the US an employer can be at fault in front of law if they allow or enable a workplace affair that results a divorce for example. As far as I can see, Big Brother is Tully's employer. They are also at fault if they know their work environment will worsen the worker's mental health for example. I've read of many cases where the employer has made a deal and paid six number figures in dollars to avoid negative publicity.

How are people even questioning this?

it's not a work place, you can't drink, pash, play games etc in your work place either. But yes they do sign a contract and i bet BB isn't liable for anything. Any way, they all have issues and so does everyone, what do you expect bb to do, pull her from the house because she cheated, or because she always cries, or because she owns drew? I'm sure if her family thought she was going nuts they would yank her from the house. She is fine when things are going her way, she behaves badly when they don't...she melts down then gets over it. What happens when she gets out is their business and none of ours.

Same in France. Secret Story HMs are being paid a wage like in Australia. They also can only be filmed 8 hours a day. Sometimes when someone wants to leave the house, the production pay them a large amount of money to stay, if they need the HM to stay for the show.

Oooh I never knew this. How much is the wage?

I'm not so sure. For a post that supposedly supports Tully there seems to be more than a few 'buts' there.

You know, it's a all a bit, 'I love Tully but I disapprove of this, this and oh don't forget this...' There's the implied disapproval over Tully cheating, which, if you're a friend 'offering support' should be irrelevant, especially on a public forum. Also, the comment about a friend "publicly embarrassing herself", which, again, regardless if it's true or not, is not the sort of thing a friend should come out with on a public forum, not if they're trying to support you.

I think a real friend would keep this sort of thing for a private discussion at an appropriate time, not this very public, half-hearted offering of love and support interspersed with barely disguised disapproval. A real friend would support unconditionally, at least in public.

For me, the quote about BB being a children's show is not what a friend would do. The implication that something very adult happened only stirs up more gossip and rumour. It may be true, but why the hell would a "supportive friend" stir that pot? How does that support Tully?

Sorry, I think the whole post is judgemental, self-indulgent nonsense. Regardless of what we viewers would think of Tully's behaviour; with friends like that, bloody hell.

I don't think anyone would take it seriously if it was too sycophantic and supportive. Teamtully clearly thought about their audience, and if it was pro-Tully propaganda, it just wouldn't wash.

I think they struck the right tone, between disappointment but loyalty, and a bit of tired grief.

I'm with you. I agree that it isn't the producers fault. There's a standard test. Potential housemates pass or fail. If they do, they've voluntarily made a commitment to the show and should be held fully accountable for their actions from that point forward. However, there is the issue of ethical responsibility and the semblance of exploitation. Again, I don't agree but the argument could be competently made.

yes that's true. I'm sure bb contracts are pretty air tight though. They sign up for the exploitation. If tully wanted to leave and they tried to keep her in that would be one thing but she doesn't want to leave. It's only her fault that she has a big mess waiting for her on the outside.

What I wouldn't give for a RINGSIDE SEAT to THAT.

I'm sure the contract they sign is more than likely to protect Channel 9 than anything to do with housemate's "rights".

Good post, Jo-bot

It sounds like BB may have done something that pissed the friend off. She wont be using that BBTully twitter as she wont support the BB show. Looks like she will be supporting Tully when she gets out as this twitter msg says:

@TullysmythBB Tully doesn't need to be supported to stay in the house. She needs support when she leaves. There's a difference.
she responded with:
@uandv and that's exactly where I will be.

That was posted after she said she wont be using the BBTully twitter feed anymore.
To me that reads as if she doesnt want to support BB and just wants to be there for Tully when she gets out.

I already replied to you in the Live Feed thread but no, that's not it at all.

When I read her friend's twitter, that is what I understood too. She will support Tully, but not BB

I realise you're a big Tully fan but you're not listening to what she's saying. She thinks Tully should be out of the house and when she is she'll support her. She's not saying she's pissed at BB.

Tully Smyth ‏@TullysmythBB 16h

Due to forthcoming events that may or may not be aired in the up and coming days, I can no longer run and support this page.

I love Tully as my friend but I don't want to be running this page with the drully situation as it something I don't agree with at all

"Of course Big Brother tells her things before they air. People need to remember that they both auditioned and both got through the first initial rounds. They know Tahlia and have a responsibility to her."

"Channel 9 has marketing this series as a children's show. Which is why I believe that what I know won't be shown."

Im a noob when it comes to navigating twitter pages, but I cant see where it says those last two part?

It's from the letter posted by teamtully on page 104. :)

Cheers!

Ok gave that a read and yeah she does sound pissed at Tully. Sounds like Drully did have sex!
I still think she is pissed at BB BUT after reading her post she is also very disappointed with Tully for what she did.
Going to be interesting when Tully gets out.

Will have to keep an eye on this thread.

Umm I realise that. I've already posted all of her tweets for him in the Live Feed thread. He asked for the "last two parts" of my post which is from her letter. He's confused as it is.. please don't make it more so for him.

Ok then :)

This is important too

From Tully's friend

The only reason I want those accounts now is to try and be a buffer for the online hate.

Please try and remember that there is more than one person at fault here.
The producers, the psychiatrists on the show and drew are all also equally to blame.

I take it to mean that, indeed, she set her friend there to gather support to keep Tully in the house. But this friend has downed tools, has conscientiously objected, because she does not think Tully should stay in the house anymore, but she needs to come home and let her friends take care of her.
