Yep, she's a gutsy girl alright, ate the 5 hot dogs and then got to partake in the challenge after. You know, I personally feel Big Bro has been mean to her as compared with the others. He has taken her hair dryer twice, put her in the halfway house from the beginning courtesy of Sonia, gave her hard tasks ( sitting in ice in a bikini and answering questions, making her eat 5 hot dogs after a heavy breakfast and then submitting her to a showdown challenge soon after) I thought Tim & drew's task were so lame. I think the least Big Bro can do is make amends, ie give her back her hair dryer. I really don't like how she's been singled out but it has amplified her ability to come out narry a scratch. Team Tahan here and she deserves all the support.

Yes, this. Everything in this paragraph outweighs her occasional bitchiness but people still don't like her because of the hair extensions incident.
This reminds me of how shallow and petty some people are. Prejudice rears its ugly head, I'm afraid. Sometimes just for want of a reason people will use anything to justify their dislike and underlying prejudice. I can think of worst scenarios than some stupid hair extensions. I know Tahan can be bitchy if she wants to but aren't we all like that?! I feel she should stay in the house as she has been an asset from what I've seen thus far. Mind you, she had the guts to approach the Barbies to sort out the matter even though she had to eat her words so as to not offend the Barbies further .Mikkayla has so far gotten away with her tattletaling. She could have been a peacemaker but she chose the opposite.

Tahan has been really great. She was the one initiating the conversation with the sisters, and when she apologised she didn't try to deny what she said. Yeah, I think Mikkayla likes to think she's like Tahan in that way, but instead she just goes and tell people what others said about them. It makes her look like a coward.

Yeah, what Tahan has said or done is NOTHING compared to some of the other HMs. So she's chatty? Why is that bad? I really like how chatty she is, personally. She speaks her mind, which is why she remains to be my favourite.

I was surprised about this as well, especially no tea or coffee because that's how a lot of models suppress their appetite. I know I'd be eating more if I didn't drink coffee.

I wonder if when she lives in Darwin, if she's in one of those restricted areas? Dunno how it works at the moment but could be part of it, or maybe she resists for personal reasons to due with being aboriginal (like not wanting to abuse it). In any case, it definitely makes her even more interesting and respectable to me.
She was probably not raised on it, so didn't get into the habit! I love my coffee (and tea..) so I see it as essential, but I've been on it for years.

I have tried to look at this stupid BB script from every conceivable angle now. It just doesn't make any sense. Don't they know that Tahan is a strong player? Oh, maybe they don't want any more strong players because they have already settled on Drew/Tim.

Oh yeah, that could be part of it. I guess also just being on tv would be a good enough reason not to drink because if you do something embarrassing, no one will ever let you forget it.

I'm pretty sure she said at the beginning that she has Aboriginal and Malay roots. Her mother in the audience the other day looked very much Malay to me. If this is correct, then her dislike for coffe, tea and alcohol is no mystery. As you said, she probably wasn't raised on it.
An Indonesian friend (same culture, almost identical language) came to visit in Sydney for the first time, we offered her a Coke which she politely accepted. Her first cautious sip had her roll her eyes and cough and spatter. At age 22 this had been her first Coke experience. In her own words: It felt like something was trying to tear out my throat (Seolah olah ditarik leher).
Most of us find it hard to grasp that in other cultures coffe, tea, softdrinks and alcohol are luxury items. Many of those who can afford them still prefer water. If Tahan's mother is indeed Malay, she'll have a good understanding of what she should put in her mouth and what not.
Today's trivia: Tahan means endure/endurance in Malay and in bahasa Indonesia.

She's a stayer, for sure. Only female in there who could go all the way to the final, as I see it.
That's the problem, someone does one thing wrong and everything else is forgotten.
What Boofuls said is true. Tahan is all of that. I don't like every action she does but there is so much more to like.

At least she is interesting. One minute she is making nasty comments and the next she is trying to snap Mikkayla out of her "poor me I am not a model" funk on George Clooney night. Even though she says she usually does not get along with girls, she seems to make an effort to talk to everyone. I also appreciate the fact that she does not chase after the males for attention.(I am looking at you Tully and Jade)

Totally agreed. She's a strong lady - you can just tell by the way she carries herself. She hasn't changed herself for anyone else and honestly I wouldn't think she has to. Besides some harsh comments re: the twins (who by the way, are not entitled to everyone loving them), she's really been great.
I just have a lot of respect for her. Model who uses her arse and tits or not (as someone so eloquently put it here), she's a smart, fierce girl who actually DOES try her best to get on with everyone (maybe why she was so preoccupied with NOT liking the girls...?). I ask for nothing more.
Just got off the Barbies thread. Guess what? Tahan's intuition is right again. A poster there has family who knows the Barbies' family and the Barbies are nothing like what they portray themselves to be in the House. Don't get me wrong, they may be sweet natured in reality but the rest of them is fake, fake fake. Tahan is vindicated. Justice must be served. Big Bro has been hoodwinked and suckered. I gotta hand it to the Barbies, they got noticed alright.
