Not saying much more on this.. But I got through on audition day.. And I'm far from from the slim normal looking model type if guy..
:p I proved so many people wrong that day.. Its a shame I didn't get the call back, but oh well

That's awesome! I wasn't saying they don't still recruit via the open call but more that they aren't necessarily the end all of BB casting...

When I auditioned for BBCA by the time I got to the casting person I was pretty much done after waiting for 5 hours in the cold and I didn't really care for the group I was put in or the bitch at the table... My friends however made it to the second round...

I am a proud reformed bogan, and as far as descriptions go, I think this one is pretty much on the money.

In my experience, you tend to be born a bogan rather than choose or aspire to become one.

And as far as X Factor goes, I am so fucking sick of watching people sing/cook/renovate/juggle midgets while sharing their secret sob stories for a camera. I would much rather the camera be hidden and be on them 24/7 without the opportunity of a re-edit, so we can see them at their best and at their worst like we see in BB.

Life is too short to focus on what you hate, best you take yourself to the XFactor forum and live and laugh a little. And smile a bit, that permanent grimace is ageing you.

These people are HIRED for the show - they were not RANDOMLY found at an audition. I never said that models/actors can't have real jobs as well - of course he is a soldier but he was not found the CORRECT way that most of them were in the beginning of BB

What's that supposed to mean? All of them have been to the original auditions and then the ones that get through are shown on the TV auditions. Hardly fake!

X Factor producers are always on the lookout for raw (or relatively undiscovered) talent OUTSIDE of the Auditions. Australia's Got Talent do this as well. Big Brother producers are no different.

Don't fall for the sob stories & stereotypes on X Factor.

Some housemates will have been found at the Open Auditions - guaranteed! Last year's winner, Ben, auditioned EVERY YEAR at the Open Auditions. Some have probably been picked by talent scouts.

I'll tell you something that is almost a closely guarded (but obvious) secret about reality shows these days. The sad truth is that nowadays this is NOT the case.

Take AGT for example, I know for a 100% fact that a certain dance school was approached by the producers and asked to set up a group to "audition". On the show and to the general viewer, we will be told that they've been dancing together for blah blah years and so on, when in fact they've been purposely added by the producers to give the show some "oomf".

What's worse than this, they've already been told that they will be kept until Grand Final.

Truth.

Sad reality.

Just cause someone got in, doesn't mean they were picked through a talent scout. Why don't you go on and put that question for Alex to answer, I guarantee you, all housemates went through the same audition as everyone else did.

Yep. 100% fact.

In 2011 there was a very talented female opera singer who was found by producers busking on the streets of Perth. The producers flew here to Sydney for the Auditions. The whole story was featured in a segment on the TV show.

I certainly wouldn't mind spending a few months in the same house as Matt. But, I should really reserve judgement until the show starts. He might be a prick.

No, because the show is yet to air - and I have a family member who has been contracted on to be "part of the group" and I'm not willing to expose full details.
