Housemate #1 - Matt (Soldier)

Not denying Matt has a strong story, my first impressions of him are actually quite positive compared to a few on here, I am just saying he hasn't generated much interest or discussion in the grand scheme of things. Even if they do reveal someone more in line with Matt, I think a lady in her 40's who the producers feel has a story Australia will fall in love with would still receive a bigger reaction from the public compared to Matt.

Anyway we do have differing opinions in that I believe they will reveal someone who is more unique and will receive a bigger reaction from the audience to build some momentum in the advertising. I understand what you are saying though and I understand why you think they would do that and it would not surprise me even slightly if they did. Who knows if they will even reveal another Housemate tonight though?
 
I think the fact he has the 'soldier' element will carry him far. And he has the gym body too. He's already at a major advantage I think. Which of course means I'll try and vote him off first chance I get haha. I need an underdog and my underdog last year (Charne) got the boot the very first eviction!!

Does his Mum's advice reveal anything about his personality?

Matt's mum Carol O'Neill said she was proud to see her son diving into every opportunity that life throws at him.

Her advice to him before heading into lockdown? Don't hurt anyone's feelings.

"I just said to him that if he talks about anyone, make sure he would say that to their face,'' Carol said.

So is there anyone else who doesn't give a shit he is a soldier? To me that is almost a negative not a positive. I don't see soldiers as heroes at all.
 
Being a soldier also means he is good with discipline and regime, so he will adapt to Big Brother very well. if in have nots

I absolutely believe Australian soldiers are heroes. Just ask anyone in this country who has lived through a natural disaster how they felt when the army trucks rolled in with supplies and much needed aide, and you will find they say the same thing.

You don't see them as heroes because you haven't needed them...yet.

Amen on that. they are not heroes. they signed up to do a job and get paid well to do it. A hero is someone who does something altruistic.

Yes they are, They are paid to do it, as are teachers, doctors, police, nurses, fire fighters, paramedics, disability workers and a whole cluster of other professions, which I consider heroes.

So what is your badly articulated point?!
