Oh god yes! mouth care is a must. When i first did palliative care we did it 4 times a day, for those that were really bad more so, now unfortunately the workload is so bad that it prob gets done twice.Thank you my darling!
How is this for ridick, Qld Health Sunshine Coloola's policy and procedure is to manually prime!
Regarding nausea the speaker said it is the most overlooked symptom re palliative because we are so focused on controlling pain, position and poo. So I guess it is a good question to add when patient rounding, are you nauseous? I seriously had no idea hali can be used for nausea!
I will do a stint in palliative. I have nursed a couple on the ward but missed the actual death. I am anal about mouth cares. I hate a dry mouth!!!
