I'd love a bed shaped like a dragon that can also breathe fire and make roaring sounds.

No wait, scrap that. I think I actually want to be a dragon.

I must admit I did laugh at @bleachy_dude's expense too. Not at all the wild weather and lack of power of course, just that damn bed, so funny.

As an aside, I'm jealous of your bed bleachy. I wanted to buy a similar sounding one from this hotel I once stayed at (they had new ones for sale) but I didn't and I often regret it.

Yeah, the no power isn't funny at all. Has your gf tried to negotiate a pay rise or something. Sounds like they are taking advantage of her. I hate that. Today for me seems to be a lazy day. This weather doesn't help. I feel like I should be tidying up draws of clothes but cbf right now

Yeah, I got out of bed, felt the cold, and now I'm tucked right back under the covers.

Yes that parts, I guess it's good at least something funny had come out of it. Obviously the safety and wellbeung of everyone is more important though.

She's only been with this job for a year, there are opportunities for pay rises and promotions down the road if she lasts that long, the hours are very tolling and yes they totally are taking advantage of her.

This weather is just so uninspiring. I think I have to do some housework today, I'm basically trapped at home all day so really why not. It's just the best weather for doing sweet F all though!

Yes most schools are closed, I am looking after my nephews today. Card games and board games to stop them going crazy.

Most schools either have no power or tree damage. On the local radio this morning they started reading out the list of closed schools and then they stopped and go "this list is too long, can someone please call us and tell us the schools that are open" haha

Our category one cyclone has given me much more sympathy and I guess empathy now for the northern QLDers who deal with worse cyclones more regularly.

But haha thanks @shadow2 -- I ended up sleeping in the bed even though it was upright! Surprisingly I had a good sleep. I forgot to wear my Fitbit. Would have been interesting to see if sleep was better or worse. They're now saying power might not be back until the weekend at least so I might have a few more nights like that. Haha.


And yeah sorry @Trala. Still got no reception on phone. No idea when reception will be back. I'm on my iPad which has a data only sim and the net on this thing is super slow and intermittent.


Only 2% on my iPad battery so I'm going to try to charge my iPad in my car now (as a very wise forumer reminded me I could do :p)

I feel like I'm in some post apocalyptic world. With my limited communication to this forum. Facebook won't even load for me. This forum loads easier than Facebook. So you guys will probs get my whinging over the next few days. Haha.

This is super terrible, but the only footage I have seen of Sydney is the quick news update bite that involves a house floating down the street. Sounds like typical post storm Qld weather though. We lost power for 4 days in the storm of 2012, parts of Caloundra were out for a week. You don't realise how important power is until its gone. The fact you have barely any social media must be horrendous. Oh my God, you have probably been forced to talk to the people you live with!! Ahhhhhhhhh!

I haven't seen the news in days thanks to this awful packing/moving/cleaning. If you get power, google me some images of it.

It happens to me a fair bit actually. Some posters in here need to understand it is okay not to agree with an opinion, it is okay to be fucked off by an opinion, it is okay to be offended by an opinion and it is okay not to like person, life still goes on.

Delcan told me the other day that my opinion has even caused forum suicide attempts!

Who knew my opinion had this sort of power?

Here is a fact. After reading one of your conversations, Google advertising started targetting me for Cougar dating websites.
 
Seriously this no power thing sucks. Currently sitting in the car in the pouring rain charging the phone.

All things considered though, very lucky. Seeing those houses floating away and hearing of the 3 dead elderly people up in the Hunter is very sad.

I feel your pain! 2 years ago, we lost our power for 3 days. In that time, my dog got sick and also died :( Take care all xx
 
My thoughts and prayers (not that I pray but thats what people say right?) go to all effected by the insane storms in NSW, I saw the start of it, and wasn't pretty! I feel your pain, picture this, you get custom made shoes, you wear them and end up in a club, the skanks stand on the shoes and ruin the leather, never to be repair, I feel your hardship xxx
 
She is well and very strong now - it was just a bit scarey and hair raising at the time!

I am waiting to here from my sister, she lives in the shire, but it is an area with loads of trees around her.
