Over 20 years ago I borrowed my then boyfriend's car which was a sports car, took the roof things off and took his younger brother for a drive to Tower Hill, just out of Warrnambool. There are emus there and they were getting a bit close so we hightailed it back to the car to escape them. We forgot the roof was off and an emu stuck his head over the top of the windows. We couldn't stop laughing and yes, they have evil looking eyes. All birds do.

Haha shit that's seriously equal parts terrifying and hilarious.

That sounds hilarious!

Hey @Inigo Montoya you definitely did the right thing with the bird, full credit for being so brave as I can never bring myself to even squish a dying bug even though it's far more humane long term.
I would not use the word brave, it was just something that needed to be done. I did wonder after if there was a better way to do it, but yeah now I think I did the right thing.

No fair enough, I'm glad you feel better about it upon reflection. It is brave to me because, as I said, I always chicken out in similar situations. Sometimes doing what's necessary still requires some amount of courage.

1. No I have not and that link sounds awful I don't think I will be looking.

2. Yes I think you're right, as if people need am excuse.

3. 100% agree, much more humane I just can't do it. Luckily the need to do it rarely occurs.

1. It is awful.

2. People always need an excuse.

3. I always find it weird how we can euthanise dying or sick animals, but we can't euthanise dying or sick humans. Seems hypocritical to me.

I remember quite clearly the first time I heard the word euthanasia. High school 78/79 and a few of us in Sociology thought it was was Youth in Asia which made no sense to us as we weren't talking about Asia at all. Thankfully the teacher cottoned on to our confusion and explained it to us. Very funny but embarrassing.

1. Ok.

2. That's true. I guess being able to excuse being a grumpy shit for external reasons not pertaining to your actual DNA is probably comforting.

3. I fully support euthanasia and medically assisted suicide and dying with dignity. I understand some of the arguments against it (more the moral ones) but I believe the quality of life is more important than the value of life at the end the day, and that people should not have to suffer if they don't wish to. It becomes cruel to keep a very sick dog alive, yet it's apparently essential for all humans to be kept alive.

Lol a common error I'm sure. Wasn't there some Pauline Hanson joke around that? "What's your opinion on euthanasia!" "They can bloody well stay there!"

I assume she didn't actually say that but hey who knows.

I do too.

I agree with you about the euthanasia thing. Isn't still it illegal because of the fact that many politicians are still influenced by their religious beliefs? I remember a long time ago N.T. passed a law in support of euthanasia, but then the Federal government overturned it? I think it happened in the 1990s?

An urban myth?

Yep I think so. Kinda funny though.

Yeah religion has it's place, but not with regards to law making I feel. Yes I believe many politicians are influenced their religious beliefs, which I can respect I suppose, but I think there is a point where you need to look at the bigger picture, like with gay marriage.

The Green's support euthanasia or at least assisted suicide, they are obviously very liberal though. It's very controversial, but it's not like people are forced to get euthanised or that their family will make the decision on their behalf, it just means those that want to have the option. Again, kinda like gay marriage. Not that it's otherwise comparable to euthanasia of course.

Off to the farmers market today, going to buy some yummy yummy veggies!!!

@Khun Khun Yuck I hate it when people don't let fresh air into their house, I'm like you I need windows opened... even in winter.
I hope the hair cut looks good!

@bleachy_dude OMG you need to stop eating all those artificial banana flavoured things, clearly you are allergic to that particular chemical. What happens if one day you eat a lollie or whatever that has A LOT of that flavouring in it.... that's kind of scary.

Oh and I love bananas, probably the only fruit that I eat, I find everything else too sweet, that's probably why I love veggies so much.
Don't eat any banana flavoured things... beside banana bread and that is made with real banana's.

Last year I bought a pack of zooper doopers, just to see what all the fuss is about, now I have this almost full pack sitting in the freeze taking up room. I have no interest in finishing them... I think the pink one had 17g of sugar, I think I am going to throw them in the bin, which makes me sad, because I don't like to waste food, having said that zooper doopers aren't really food, they are basically the foods version of cocaine with all that sugar.

Haha you're right I probably should stay away. It's sad cause it's my favourite flavour!

Inspired by this talk of banana things I was craving a banana smoothie so I went on a mission to get one only they had no soy/almond milk so I had to have it with dairy (yuck) and possibly to spite me for my hipster request I could barely taste any banana and it just tasted suspiciously like thick blended milk, ie, gross. So I had to bin it. What a waste of $9.50. Yep, apparently banana smoothies now cost nearly ten bucks.

Tfl;dr.

$9.50?!?!

I was considering moving to Melbourne to escape this overpriced madness but I guess it's no better. I'll stick with @bleachy_dude's province, unless it's also overpriced in which case I give up.

Nooooo.... I had the world's BEST Coconut smoothie for $5 in Terrigal the other day.

Oh and @Witty Banter - I tried to read your post about me, but to be completely honest, so much of it didn't really make any sense (to me).

I'm not holding anyone's hand and I will stand by my comments that boasting about what university you went to and what your life earnings have been were pretty low come backs. That's my opinion and I don't really get what you mean by it being an experiment?!? You may differ in opinion and that's fine for you.

I'm happy to discuss stuff with you via PM if you like.

I am confused too. Oh well I guess..
