I always thought trolls were more... disruptive, I guess. Like, back in the day when I was a cool internet hooligan me and some of my internet pals ransacked a Delta Goodrem forum and we really screwed that place up. It took them a week to clean up our mess. I think the word troll gets thrown around far too easily these days, but what do I know, ey?

I agree. Calling someone a troll has come to mean 'I don't like or agree with your opinion' or 'I don't like you' rather than used in it's proper way.

Yeah! Casual sarcasm and perceived "weirdness" isn't trolling. Sure, a lot of trolls do employ that sort of thing, but it's only a small part of the overall makeup of the troll.

I also think that trolls don't care if they get banned or not, so that means they can post their vile stuff and ruin the forum experience for other people.

Yeah, for sure. When I was a troll getting banned was kind of the goal, in a way. I mean, that was always how it ended, and always how it was going to end, no matter what. But it was about the journey to getting banned.
