I think the best defence would be a shared connection, yes, or remove the wifi password.

I doubt it will end up in a court. I don't see many of them paying that $7000 if they are given the option and it will be a very long battle.[DOUBLEPOST=1428418991][/DOUBLEPOST]
Are they only customers of iiNet? Sorry, I've not really heard too many actual details about it.

You sound worried :P No, all providers.

I remember some six years ago now my friend got a letter in the mail tell her off for downloading torrents and stuff. It was so random. I think they even put some sort of "lock" on her internet so that it wouldn't download torrents.[DOUBLEPOST=1428419405][/DOUBLEPOST]
You sure you didn't download it? We won't judge!! ;)

That's for the court of law lol

Haha no I've not even seen it!

Wow, I don't know why they don't do that for everyone.. Just stop the torrent use completely.
Silly if you ask me. All service providers should just put a lock on torrent use.

I never even heard of that movie until today.

I heard somewhere if you download, it is simultaneously uploading as well. So yeah.

Well yeah, you do a little bit, but you can stop that after the file has downloaded completely, although it's courteous to keep uploading so everyone else can have good download speeds or whatever. (I'm not really sure how it actually works though so maybe I'm just talking shit lmao)

Ha ha - from what I read, you are completely correct.

However, from the ruling, it sounds like even if you uploaded 0.0001% of the file, you will be in trouble
