Samsung probably does have Hay Day. I just mean any games you have paid for, you will lose. Most games are on both platforms. Hay day is free, yeah?Omg, I forgot the Apps, so Samsung won't have hay day? Thanks for the advice, I really want to stick with the I phone

Good on you, trala and your man for getting closer towards your own home ownership!
Now, you just have to find that beautiful haven, that you both can sink your hearts into and enjoy. Good job!

I will confess that I am biased towards Apple but here is WHY I would suggest the iPhone over the Samsung.
If you get a new iPhone... first you back up your phone to your iTunes, then when you get your new phone you restore from back up. This way all your photos, apps, music, contacts, messages - everything is brought along. This is a massive time saver. Other than letting the computer do its thing while, restoring, you don't have to set up the phone at all. It will even keep the same ring tones, message tones, alarms, alerts, favourites ... EVERYTHING. If you're not very techy - this makes the transition basically seamless.
If you have purchased apps then I think this is one of the biggest reasons to stick with Apple.
If you haven't purchased apps and you only ever use free apps, then I guess if you're happy to spend more time setting up the new phone, learning the new software, entering all your contacts etc then you may prefer the Samsung. I think maybe the samsungs are cheaper? Well there are certainly lots of cheaper options within the android ecosystem.
Ultimately it's up to you and someone like @Consuela can sell you on the benefits of android. He is equally as biased to android as I am to apple. In the end, do what you will feel comfortable with and what phone you will enjoy using the most
Hope that's helpful.
I am going to be in the market to get a new phone and update from the 5 year old mini piece of crap that I have been using. Need a good suggestion, for a couple of Tradesmen as well.
Been getting calls from a "Telstra" person, wanting to chat about "options" Any Ideas????? I do prefer to buy outright - and prefer not to get locked into a contract and all, but maybe I am better to 'do a plan, stan' ........... I don't know

Someone sell me something, as a New User of these amazing new phones I may not be able to navigate ......
Good morning OT Thread!
Oh my God, I think I have turned a corner with my knee recovery!!!!!!!!
Yay!!!!!!
Careful with corners!
Yup.
How is my broken hearted muppet?

They are all safe & sound, no real damage to their place, just waiting, waiting, waiting for the power to be re connected & getting some normalcy back. They breed em tough up there!

Yes Android has Hay Day. These days there's very few apps you can't find on Android that that you can on Apple. If you've bought heaps of apps then like Bleachy said it's easier to stay locked in with Apple but if you haven't or don't mind leaving them behind then the move to Android isn't really that hard. True it's not a simple one-click-solution but that's because Apple doesn't want to make it easy to leave. Once you have made the move to Android though it's extremely easy to move on between new phones just by logging into Google, no cables, no backuping up to the computer. Technology wise there's not much difference between the phone's - they both do the same things - but you can make Android do more and it's far more customisable than Apple.
In the end though it's up to you and I won't lie and say it isn't easier to just stick with the iPhone but I will say that every single person I've converted to Android has said they'd never go back.

If it's your first smartphone then OF COURSE you want to start with Android. Especially if you want a more rugged phone suitable for tradies. One of my tradie mates has an Aspera R5 which he swears by as it's made specifically for tradies and is water/dust/shock proof plus has decent battery and specs. It's only $400 outright too. There's a newer model coming out soon as well which might be a better option if you wait a month or so.
If you want a nicer looking phone go for a Sony Xperia Z3 or Z2 as they're still water/dust resistant and if you get an otterbox case they should withstand pretty much everything.

Yeah i think I am going for the Samsung 5. As far as apps go, I pretty much play them on the I Pad, and I don't have many songs on the phone, so starting from scratch wont be too much of a problem. Though, transferring all the contacts will be a hassle. but the Samsung is much cheaper than an IPhone 6, and I can add more gb to the samsung. So thanks for the feedback @Consuela and @bleachy_dude and @Trala , but Consuela wins!!
