Girls are very insecure creatures but lesbians are 10x worse so like others have said it's likely an insecurity thing.
It's ironic because at least bisexuals are honest about it, quite often 'lesbians' will be right into the scene and then suddenly they're off with a boy and married.
And then some lesbians end up sleeping with some guy and then coming back to the dark side, I call this 'Mid lesbian life crisis'.

Yeah the whole can't be monogamous thing does my head it too. I mean as far as I'm concerned is identical in stupidity to the whole 'oh no we can't have a gay guy on the sporting team/in the army cos he'll be constantly wanting to fuck the other guys'.

Yeah, I'm a lot happier now I'm secure in myself, but it's still hard when you get shut-down by someone because of your sexuality. But a relationship built on a foundation of insecurity is never going anywhere anyway, so in the long run it's probably better.
 
I feel bad for you @Illabeth, and really any bi person. They seem to be the most misunderstood and carry extra confusion and unnecessary judgement, and yeah sadly a lot of that would cone from lesbians. I know when I was a teenager I tried to make that label fit me and for a long time I let my family and friends do the same, but I would probably take offence to it now in the same way you would at anything you've described.

When I was a teenager I was so confused, because I had the most amazing crush on a girl at school but I'd also had a boyfriend and was attracted to guys as well as girls. For ages I thought I was gay and I really struggled with it because of the whole boyfriend thing, but I tried to fit and be gay because it was easier to have a label that was recognised and then I stumbled across bisexuality and was like YES, this is me, and then I got shit on for that, so it took a while, but now I'm here, and I love girls and I like guys and all is good. I usually role with the label 'queer' now, because I am pretty queer, and I'm pretty happy about it.
