I don't know if anyone here saw it, but it came up in another thread. Where I accidentally figured out I spoke to someone who then shut me down on a dating site that posted on here last season. I saw a post from them tonight, I so want to message and be like, 'Hey .... we spoke on.. just saying hey..'
Just for shits and giggles, but I think it's best to just leave it lol.
For the record, I would purely just do that in a funny way, but I'd hate it to think it was coming off in a creepy or interested way.

Not a regular. So don't get your hopes up, it'd be no one you know. When I saw it in the picture thread I clicked on their name and they hadn't posted since last season. Tonight I saw a post from them.
I think I know who it is, and if it is, dude, go for it!
To be clear, I have no intention of 'going for it.'
I just think it's funny, because ironically if we both posted on the same forum it's the kind of thing you'd have in common that'd never come up on dating sites and watching stuff like this is actually fun to do in a relationship.
Anyway as I said my reason for not saying, probably best to not post if you do know it or to guess.
Nah it was like this. I kind of lazily online date. Most of the time I ignore it, I'm better in the real world. I have to like someone to actually flirt. For some reason at a bar, a party or whatever you kind of instantly get there. But online dating I spend half the time or more figuring out if I like them, so I'm not as charming as I normally am. Anyway, I can't remember if she messaged me or I messaged her. My lazy style to it generally means I never message anyone unless their profile stands out.
But I was not too into it and it was the whole friendly thing. I don't know the context, but I said something along the lines of, 'lets chat a bit before meeting up' she was like, 'I like meeting up quickly.' Which put me in an awkward position. I am busy I got over the quick meet ups with people who do a date a night a week, so I want a sense of the person to see if there is a chance I may like them. Just because someones hot I can't fake it. But we had a couple of messages, general chit chat, no idea about what and she was like, 'Yeah I'm not interested.'
So it was nothing interesting. Just general stuff, I honestly didn't care. You speak to a shitload of people on these things. It was just funny seeing a picture on the picture thread from last year.
I so fucking hope I don't come across all desperate or hung up, I honestly just think the, 'we post on a bb forum' is funny as hell.

I agree, you can't convey confidence and charm with online dating...like text is so informal....it's hard to flirt and or be serious.

You know what it is, it's more the meeting in person thing. It's actually the only time someone was like, 'nah' when chatting. Generally what happens is, I don't really care and so don't reply for a week and then they don't reply. Or I never reply or something.
I know I am not going to 'like' someone online. I may think there's potential, I may think they're attractive, but you have to meet someone. It's not like in real life where you can instantly know. Then the odd nature of the date kind of removes that. You don't know if they are happy or disappointed, you're trying to figure out how they are. It's not like when you just gravitate towards someone in social situations.
It's the meeting bit. If I meet a girl out and ask her out, in my head I already have a, 'she's interested.' So on the date you know you're interested and the charm just flows. For me with online dating, I just have the mind set of, I am meeting someone and lets see. Then the fact I have always had close female friends means I am just a normal nice guy. I just don't have that mindset, 'yes I am going to pick this person up.' So unless what ever we're doing some how swings that way, I leave most dates being like, 'yeah I had a nice time but I have no idea if I liked them.' Even if as most of the time they've been attractive and nice people.
I just want to avoid those that go on a million dates because they want to be charmed and wowed as opposed to get to know someone.
