Better than I have been last year was like a period, every month! cos I think Im limitless and push to hard, but this year its because I have been doing lot of outside work in the weather, so its been worth it! :) Oh and Im a DRAMA QWEEN ... pseudoephedrine .... no lemon! Go for the good shiz

You know where to come if you want the former ;)

Oh don't you worry! Now I know where to go to book my holidays! :D

Just don't take the latter with you on your Bali trip. You're to classy for Kerobokan.

I'll save it for Thailand, at least they have a good dance program in their jails!

I don't wanna be seeing this on the news...

Sorry l got so excited by your romance issues l forgot to answer the question!

I have that gift where l can find something attractive in almost anyone and l am 64% deviant, so it is never too hard for me.

That is exactly what my CN said during my mini breakdown. l felt so awful l cried!! It was 3 patients, 2 targin (both 10/5) and 1 oxycontin 10mg. I had done my 08:00 meds and was waiting for an RN to do my 08:00 S8's with me when all hell broke loose - fall, patient undid wound dressing, mental health patient throwing breakfast plates at the patient in the next bed, grumpy patient wanting to go for a ciggie buzzing every 68 seconds, new AIN and l plain forgot. The funny thing, on the Friday l won an award for nursing, and by Sun drug errors abound! When my NUM saw me on the monday she was smiling and said "oh how the mighty have fallen...". It was at that point l knew it would be okay. I mean like you said, too much and wrong patient is going to bring patient harm re: drug errors bit late is not going to be detrimental if you are doing your rounding. I can't believe not one of the fuckers complained of pain on my rounding checks which would have prompted me! The day l won my award another nurse gave the wrong drugs to a patient. The patient was hypotensive and she gave him an assortment of olol type meds. Had to canulate him just in case. It is the 3rd time she has given the wrong meds to patients in the year and a half l have worked on the ward!

Oh how cool would it be if you two fell in love and got married?!?!

Coops and l could be flower girls. Madonna could be your Matron of Dishonour, Conseula could be your best man, Father Sister QTKT could marry you both, Jam can organise the alcohol and music, l can bake a lemon meringue pie!

It will be fabulous!

I have done it a lot, its hard when its a messy day, and because can't single check, slips mind, happened all the time when was working in ortho, and they needed pre rehab, and I would completely forget until physio showed up, but would always rather forget that, than double dose or it be an insulin order or something, as you said if the NEEDED it you'd know pretty quickly, so in the end no harm done! And sounded like a messy day all round, is your ratio 6 to 1? Holy hell re co-worker, I'd hate to come on after her! That is awesome you have gotten awards, I knew you'd be great at it :) and the fact your NUM can be cheeky like that proves they value your work and know it was just a day, not a actual reflection of your work, if it was a fuckup, no way there would be a smile that went with that comment! One thing I love about nursing is the camaraderie among the fraternity, last time I was in Bali, extremely drunk got back to my room, went out to the patio to have my final night cap, my neighbour was doing the same, exchanged a few pleasantries, she was a nurse, we spent the next 6 hours sharing war stories, her husband was bored out of his mind, but we had a GREAT time, others don't get it, and we all have a warped sense of humour, oh and apparently when Im drunk I develop a European accent, which is nice to know

I really really love it. I learn something new each shift. We are 12:2 RN/EN RN gets the unstable patients due to it being outside my scope and an AIN doing shower etc.

I have made some great friends and l really like my team. Nursing stories are the best!

I am a bit of a perfectionist so handing over a ward that is any less than perfect is not an option to me. I am usually great with time management and while it cost me a missed morning tea and a 15min lunch, the day finished on a calm and completed note.

My coworkers were hugely supportive. Due to it being my first med error l mentally made it bigger than it was. My CN gave me gentle perspective and support which felt good. At the time l felt like it was the end of the world!!

First is always the worst! Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist, Im the same, I have to remind myself that its a 24 hour job and Im only there for 1/3 of it sometimes, and I do get annoyed others don't have the same attitude and you playing catch up and cleaning their shit, drives me nuts, it sounds like overall you have a fantastic team, with some excellent support higher up! Are you public or private? I used to feel bad for partners of us nurses in social settings when sharing stories, we have 0 filter, the look on their faces when we talk about faeces is hilarious!
