Thanks Topaz. It's been nice forced relaxation in recovery - looking for the positives and all that

Speedy recovery Chump, hope all is well.

My lethargy is more hangover related so I'm currently trying to avoid the light.

I think mine is a lingering effect of a recent op. I would share my oxys with you if I could. They can be used on a multiple of aches and pains. As that's not an option I hope you have berocca and Panadol handy .... Or more wine
Did someone say....wine!!!! *looks around eagerly*

Was given some oxycodone when I got my wisdom teeth removed and let me tell you they did not agree with me! I will make do with my trusty Panadol. Also hope your op was all good and not for anything to nasty.
What did you have done?
(I am so hoping it is a full sex change)
I am sure you are aware, oxy's can play havoc with your poo poo. Keep your fluids up and increase your fibre. Couple of glasses of pear juice each day will have you pooing perfectly.
Well I actually am a female. It's not as exciting as it sounds tho because I always have been.
Re the poo ..... No I wasn't aware but I was made pretty seriously well aware of it when I finally went 4 days after the op! Coming from the general anaesthetic, a couple doses of pethadine, an oxy every morning and evening and two endones every 4-5 hours it felt like I as passing the rock of Gibraltar! It was 1.5 weeks ago now but I still have nightmares!!!
DAMN!
Okay I will take another stab...
You had your labia tidied!
That is poor nursing care and education when it comes to safe practice and the distribution of medication. I have only been a nurse for 5 minutes and somehow I am doing some education regarding medication, and I might bring up your scenario including your description of the "rock of Gibraltar" for the visual (I will leave out the trimming of your labia though, some things are better left unsaid...). Patients don't automatically know the side effects of meds and it up to the nurse to educate them.
Nope thats not it either lol. A little labia tidy up never hurts tho. The docs should offer these added options - would you like fries or a labia tidy up with that?
Hint .... The doc thought it would be a 45min op to remove something, but once in she had to spend 2.5hours plus removing a lot of other stuff we didn't know would be there ....
Enjoy your hangover, thankfully a new day has rid me of yesterdays after effects of drinking. I bounced out of bed and have had a super productive morning. I have even ironed my uniforms ready for tomorrow.
I swear though, I am not drinking again for at least 4 months.

I've made it into the shower and cooked a delicious meal of fatty bacon which has made me feel mildly better.
You know they make ear lobes for patients in the burns unit with the excess labia, yes?
Endometriosis?
.. I'm happy to PM you but ill spare the general forum .... I'm sure it's TMI for most already...

Ha! So long as we don't start posting screen caps from Embarrassing Bodies I'm ok.
Oh and thanks TraLa for making me never look at earlobes the same again.
Your nursing skills are outstanding!!!! We thought we would be taking a Dermoid cyst of an ovary, turned out I had severe endometriosis all over the place (even my hip and appendix). Full marks to you nurse TraLa.
I do want to emphasis tho the nurses were very cool. I felt the love while I'm their care and really have the utmost respect for nurses.

Be honest with us, was it one of those hangovers where you have to take a moment to crouch in the corner of the shower before you have the energy to go on??? Those are always the moments when I question where my life is going lol
I'm glad your feeling better tho. Flag the ironing. Not important on a hangover Sunday. Lie out in the sun under a tree or maybe watch a good movie
Thank you my sweetheart.
Can't believe I have been a real nurse for 8 months!
You have been my nursing forum cheerleader from the get go, and I really do appreciate the fact that you have not only shared your nursing knowledge with me, but I appreciate the kindness and the advice you always gave in my early days of nursing. I think for the first 3 months, I started each shift on the brink of breakdown.
You really are special. Xo
