mmmm - It has taken this so called staunch business woman to get to this stage ......... judge all by want ...... It took me all my ball bags (have none) to put my FACE out there ........ I proud to have done that ..... 'cause it was a HUGE step ..... and it felt GREAT!!!!!!!!

#walkamileinmyshoes

It felt REALLY good to be out there once again :)

Yeah I know, there are wealings out there, but it was a HUGE step to walk into RL that I did today ......... Maybe I will post this in UROK as well ........ anyways, was a new day new way sunshine xxxx
Well done you. Enjoy your front of house job.

This is the Apple Computer I had in my schools.

Oh man, what a throwback! I remember they had one or two of the orange ones as well at my school.

They had like two rooms of thise computers in my school's it rooms, plus some in the study room.
I think you missed out on the joys of loading a Commodore 64 with a cassette tape for one hour to play a game.

I still have 80s mixtapes that are half music, half word processor saves that go beep and chirp.

I guess I missed out on a lot of stuff in the 80s.

We had no computers in the 70s when I was at school and shared computers which were in black and white at work.

Sorted out my ipod/phone problems, apart from how to delete unwanted podcasts after I've listened to them.
Sorry I have been offline for a few days. Glad you sorted your issue out.

I don't have an iPod, but on my iPad and iPhone you can just swipe across on the podcast you have listened to and the delete button will appear. Try that!

Thanks, I tried a different USB cable, and now I can access my phone on the computer again, so I can add/delete that way.

Front of house??? Is this a hospo job?
Well congrats either way!
:)

Yes - and thank god for shows like the Notplate - I have been learning heaps LOL ......... Not a huge deal, not a huge place, but still the meet and greet part is pretty awesome, although I have to meet and greet a few that have a grudge towards me ...... LOL ... luckily the owners know that those are ones are troublesome. Been out of touch with RL people lately, so each shift and day is empowering :)

Interesting times....

Especially since I have replaced a 'younger' Lady ..... She called in sick 3 times 1/2 hr before each shift start, and the third strike was good for me! I have already put in place a few new ways, to make it all easier. Hey, it is only a couple of nights a week but it is really good $$$ and also confidence building and they FEED and WATER me as well!!!!!

Well done you. Enjoy your front of house job.

Thanks :)

Had a really weird Power Surge here today - it seemed to be in only some parts of the premises. Next door had a blackout too, although they were not home at the time and cannot confirm the time.

Well, IT BLEW MY TV UP!!!!!!!!!!!! So pissed off :(

It was on a surge protected board as well - and what was interesting was that the power did not go completely out, it still was able to enough energy to dimly light the lights and lamps .................

Bit sad about the TV :(

Didn't these thing cost between 3,000 and 5000 dollars when they came out? You could have easily bought at least 5 standard IBM clone pcs for the price of that 1 apple pc. You must've gone to a private school or something to have a classroom full of these. :p

As I understand it it was mainly used by Graphic Designers due to it's huge processing power (not to mention how much electrical power it chewed through), hardcore gamers, etc..

This pc was overkill for your average family needs.

He is a god of mischief. He, like you, likes to cause trouble and mayhem.

Feeling is mutual. ;) I know you're always up to no good, no use pretending otherwise. :p

So always hey? So you think their has been no moment here that I have been serious? That everything that I have done here has just been one big joke? Or just something for my own amusenent?

I hate apple. Ever since my primary school days in the 90s I've had a very low opinion of anything related to apple because of these computers that were in my classrooms:

To me;

Apple = the Atari of the pc world.
Oh my goodness! This was my first ever experience with a computer.

We didn't have computers in the classroom. Only years 5 and 6 I believe. So the rest of the other years used the computers in the computer lab. It was once a week kind of thing unless the teacher booked the room for more. Anyways I remember some game with a burglar that I used to play on it.

Talk about a flashback

I went to a Catholic School. Most of the computers were in a computer lab.

Oh, ok 90% of the time then. Just teasing. :p

Seriously speaking I really don't know and frankly don't care. I'm surprised that my opinion on the 'subject' is that important though.

I take anything that's posted in BBAU (including personal details) with a grain of salt. No that there's anything wrong with posters who have formed a bond of sorts in this forum; that's entirely their prerogative and between them.

Although I occasionally drop by this thread I'm mostly here to share opinions on Big Brother Australia, tv shows, movies and other related topics. But that's just me. It's not my place to judge what others get out of visiting this forum. :)

Must've been one of those wealthy catholic schools then. :p

I'm pretty sure that's the first computer IRL I ever laid eyes on (besides in movies that is) as well. ;)

In my primary school students from Grade 3 onwards were allowed to use (read: play  ) in the Computer classes. I can't remember doing much 'work' in them other than playing some cool floppy disk games such as a ninja fighting game that kids had to take turns due to its popularity.

My school issued us with laptops in year 5 or 6 (I forget which) and all I remember is that I wanted the colorful Macbook sooo bad and was annoyed with my shitty acer.

I know that. But I was afraid that people might believe your jokes rather than my truth on the matter.

Must have been.
